Hi Everyone! My youngest has VPN access at the university she attends, and I'm about to configure her notebook for OPTOUT D.E.P..I was wondering if anyone has had an issue or know of an existing issue with VPN & D.E.P. All of your thoughts and information are always welcomed.Thank You for your time.:unsure:FlashornPatience is life

Hey Yeokm! Sorry it took so long to get back to you, this knew interface is not to my liking. Now the best answer I can give you about D.E.P.

(Data Execution Prevention) is to actually GOOGLE the letters the way I have written them.GOOGLE will bring you directly to Mirosoft's web page about D.E.P. and explain fully what it is.You won't be reading for hours. In a nutshell,it is extra security built in XP sp2 and Vista. It prevents certain viruses to write code in your computor's memory buffer.Another good source of information would be Wikkipedia. They also have other good links for this subject.Again I'm sorry for taking so long in answering and thank you for your interrest.

Hey Yeokm1! You are very welcomed. It seems not too many people know about D.E.P. Today, most programs do conform to D.E.P. protocol so, if you decide to try it out, give me a shout and let us know how it went.As for my question well I went ahead with the change and so far my daughter hasn't Growled.I presume everything is alwright.
