Documents are like wikis (in fact, they are wikis, but they are called documents). You can write your own wiki documents from scratch, or you can convert a discussion thread into a wiki document, like I did. Anyone can write, edit, or convert a document, and all documents are approved by me before being published. I'm only checking for community standards violations, not technical correctness. I really encourage everyone to start making and converting documents so that we can retain all this useful and awesome knowledge we share with each other. Let's be the technopedia! :)

It should sort in reverse chron, meaning the newest stuff is at the top. Things might have gotten a little scrambled in the import process from the old forum. Let's keep an eye on it and if things created in this system still look a little wonky, we'll get on it.

Private Messaging is now live. It was a problem on my end, and I apologize. I told you that I was learning the system right along with you. :)
OK, so to send a PM you can do one of two things:
1) Click on a person's name to go to their profile. In the Actions menu on the right, you'll see a selection to send them a Private Message.
2) Click on Your Stuff and at the bottom of the list is Private Messages. On this screen you check your messages and compose messages. You can also organize you rmessages into folders, keep an address book, or get an RSS feed of your private messages.
When you have new PMs, the "Your Stuff" selection in the top menu will turn orange. (Actually, it turns orange whenever there is new stuff listed there, but PMs are the most common new thing for most of you.)
You will get an email notification when you receive a PM. This is, unfortunately, not something that you can set individually in your preferences. If the majority of you hate them, I can turn them off. But it's all for one -- if I turn them off, they are off for everyone.
Let me know if you have questions or problems.

You can convert any thread you wish to a document. If you think it's useful information and someone would be looking for it in the future, I would turn it into a document.
To start a doc from scratch, go to the "New" menu on the top of the community and select "document". You select to start a new document (not upload something -- that shouldn't be there and is an active bug) and select the community that you want it to post in. Then write your document, tag it, set any collaboration options you want, and submit it for approval.
To convert from a thread, look in the Actions menu to the right of the thread. You'll see a selection that says "Convert to Document". Just press that, and it will import all the content from the thread. You can then edit it down into just what you need for the document. It will also automatically include a link back to the original forum thread in the doc, and you should leave that in. Then tag it, set the collaboration options, and submit it.

Strange, you were showing as having two again. Do me a favor, go into Your Stuff > Email Notifications. Is anything listed there? You can remove them yourself from there. (I removed yours again already). Also, go to Your Stuff > Preferences and make sure that everything is set to "no".
You may still get some occasionally, but you shouldn't be flooded with them.

Your Stuff > Preferences
You can set the time to whatever you want. The default time of the forum is Pacific Time (because I'm in charge na na na boo boo!). Seriously, it makes it easier for me to keep track of things. But you can set your display to be whatever you want.

The emails from PCWHUB are because you sent email to forums@pcworld.com either directly or replying to an email notification. I attached the email that you forwarded me on the bug ticket that I filed, and I know that Bill (our super awesome engineer) is looking into it.
Yeah, the paste thing is kind of annoying. To get around it, though, just click the icon of the clipboard with a W on it (in the top row of icons in the Rich Text tab), which will bring up a window for you to paste content into. That won't trip your pop up blocker (at least, it doesn't trip mine).

:-) Let's keep the instructions flowing. :-)
I notice that if you go on the second or subsequent pages of any discussion, one has the option of choosing how many posts he or she would like to see per page. Is this something that we can set as a default for ourselves? I would love to be able to see 50 at a time as a default.

I second the desire to have it set to 50 posts at a time over all if it cannot be set individually!
