Kellie - first let me personally say thank you to you and your staff for working on this. I know first hand what an effort it is to roll out a new system. I have been involved in the sucessful rolling out of three new accounting systems in our company over the years, and I was only involved in the testing, account structure and conversion from legacy systems. But, I was also involved in the meetings and layout for the many months before the rollout.
Now you and your team know how the Vista team felt after the big rollout, when no one could find anything. We are all frustrated, because suddenly after all those months of knowing how everything worked, we're all newbies again.
On the number of posts on the page of any discussion, is it the number or the total length that determines the page break. If you put 50 of my discourses on one page, it would go on and on and on and on. I have never been accused of being pithy. :^0

You are welcome, and thank you for saying so. We've been working on this, in one form or another, for nearly an entire year.

It is the number of posts, not the length of the posts, that determines the number displayed. It's 15 (or 30 or 50 or whatever) posts, regardless of their length.

Hi Kellie. One more question for you. Is there a way to access the discussions that have no replies as we did in the previous forum? I know there are times, especially now in a transitional stage, that a discussion can be overlooked.

I don't think so, beyond browsing the threadlist in a community. In the Your Stuff menu it will show you all of your discussions and open questions, but that's not really what you are looking for.

I am getting the email notifications...but I want to get them. I actually like the email notifications of this forum software MUCH better than the old forum software. I like that it actually includes the post in the email message.

Now, in an attempt to see if the problem happens with me, I turned off email notification for this discussion/thread. We will see if I continue to get email notifications for this discussion when someone else posts. This could help determine if it is a system wide problem or if it is a problem just for Lilxkid.

Hi Smax. I have mixed reviews about the new notification so far. I like that it has the message within the notification. However, the whole message? I guess sometimes if one looks at the whole message, he or she can decide whether he or she wants to go to the site. Maybe just a snippet would be fine for me.

Also, I do not like that I get a notification each time a post is submitted. With the previous notification, one had to actually go to the thread in order for any further notifications to go through for that specific thread. This may just being finicky but, "I like what I like." :-)

Hey, human beings just naturally don't like change! :D

Well, the email notifications DID NOT turn off. It appears that it reset for this discussion/thread because the "switch" is set back to sending me email notifications...and I got a notification when you posted. It appears that it might be some more widespead than just effecting Lilxkid.

I will try it again...

Here's your test: :-)

Oh, don't get me wrong, I love change. Just sometimes, change hurts. LOL In this case, my email Inbox has multiple entries in there that previously were not there... Oh well, no big deal. :-)

Please go to Your Stuff > Preferences and make sure that ALL of your email notifications are off. Then, go to Your Stuff > Email Notifications and make sure that the list of things you have notifications on are empty.

Yep, it seems to be working now. I did not get any of the notifications on this thread after I turned it off the second time. So, I will turn it back on since I like the notifications. Heck, I don't mind the extra messages. I get 200+ SPAM messages on one email account alone, so a few more that I actually want will not bother me! :-)

Hi Kellie. I do not know if this was already addressed but how does one figure out the breakdown of the total points he or she has accumulated? I know the total number of points are listed in the user's profile but is there a way to see in what discussions points were earned and how many points were earned in each discussion?

Apparently, if you either turn of the show signature function or put something in your signature, that mess should go away from what Kellie has posted.

If you do into a discussion that was done as a question, then it will list at the top whether or not the "correct answer" or "helpful answer" points have been awarded. For each question discussion, the original poster can award one "correct answer" 4 point award and two "helpful answer" 2 point awards. If they have been awarded, then the discussion post that was awarded those points will show a yellow star with a check mark for a "correct answer" or only a yellow star for a "helpful answer". I noticed them when reading through some "question" discussions after I had set up my own "question" discussion.

Beyond that, I believe you get 1 "point" for per post.

No, I know that part. What I mean is the total points one has accumulated.

For example:
If someone checks his or her profile, he or she will see XX points. Is there a way he or she can tell how those points break down? ...one point for this post...two points because someone selected this post as a helpful post.....4 points because someone selected this post as the correct answer, etc.

Yes...you go into each and every discussion and count up the total number of times you have posted and how many times your post got awarded a correct or helpful answer! :p ]:)

OK, so that is probably not the way you were hoping for! ;-) I am assuming that you would like some sort of nice summary list that maybe shows up under "Your Stuff". As my cousin sings to her kids: "You don't always get what you want!" :^0
