Welcome to the Answer Line community.
For 10 years now, I've been carrying on one-on-one dialogs with PC World readers in need of answers. The questions and answers you've read in my column represent a small percentage of the emailed queries I receive. Many more I answer privately, benefiting only the person who asked them.
And all too often I read a question, sigh, and go on, because I don't know the answer and can't take the time to find out. I'd rather not respond to a question than give a wrong answer that could do more harm than good.
So today PC World is turning Answer Line into a community. If I can't answer your question, perhaps someone else can. And if I can answer your question, my answer will just be part of the dialog.
You can still, of course, send me your questions privately at answer@pcworld.com.
So what kind of questions should you ask? Anything about Windows, security, backup, hardware, home theater, or any other subject likely to be covered in PC World. I could probably even answer your questions about out-dated motion picture technologies.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Lincoln. Is this Community for questions that are posed directly to you via email? ...and then you would post them here sort of like a "Dear Abby" ...or is this for someone to post if the have a troubleshooting question?
The reason I ask is because if people see, "The Answer Line Community" they may start to stream all the questions here and not in the other communities OR post them in both.
