Hi,

Wonder if anyone out there can help me with what 'should' be an easy task...

I want to be able to record audio - music tracks - off the net, make a playlist and subsequently copy across to a personal mp3 player. I'm sure that the novelty of being able to do this will quickly wear off (and I appreciate that there may be legal issues here - depending on what is being recorded and where it comes from).

I did have some software a while back which did this nicely, it was 'trialware' but recorded a burst of white noise every couple of minutes or so over the music. On purchase this annoyance would have been removed. It worked well and maybe I should have purchased it...

A couple of programmes I have tried allow me to select audio from mike or line-in but that's not what I need - I need to be able to record what's going thru' the sound card but not being physically connected to it at the back of the PC.

Hope I've made my requirements clear and that someone out there may have some advice, thanks.

Regards,

Johnl

Wainui - thanks for that link.

I downloaded the software and it works as intended. As you probably know it installs as a toolbar in your browser, I'm using Firefox so if there was any problem with uninstalling it I could re-install Firefox. It comes with a selection of radio stations and will record and playback the selected one.

Unfortunately it won't do what I want...

I play music tracks that I find on the 'net - for example Googling for 'jukebox'. These play in RealPlayer or Media Player and it's these tracks that I'd like to record.

I'm sure it should be easy but I can't see what I need to do...

Thanks again,

Regards,

Johnl

Hi,

Further to downloading Freecorder toolbar I now find it's impossible to remove it.

I've been in touch with Applian Technologies who write and supply this software and they don't seem to be able to help... They say there 'should' be two entries in the add/remove screen relating to Freecorder but there is only one. Apparently one entry relates to the actual application, the other relates to the toolbar itself. I've re-installed and tried to uninstall on a couple of ocassions without any luck.

In desperation this afternoon I removed Firefox via my add/remove screen and re-installed - would you believe - the Freecorder toolbar is still there. I then went into the Registry and gingerly removed any references to Firefox and Mozilla and re-installed Firefox - same results...

This software appears to be impossible to remove - anyone out there with any ideas or perhaps any experience of this software ?

Interestingly I saved a copy of my Firefox Bookmarks to floppy so I could re-install - but I find that on re-installation the Bookmarks are there as well - are these two odd (well odd to me anyway...) issues related

Regards, in desperation,

Johnl

John,

Try this program Add Remove Pro
It removes entries from the Add/Remove Programs list that Windows will not let you remove.
