I everyone. I'm having a problem with installing network printers.
When I "Browse for a printer" the Shared printer box never comes up
with any printers to pick.
I know the router is working because I do the same with a 2nd laptop which
show all the printers that I have setup as shared.
Has anyone seen this before?
Thanks.

Are all the computers using the same Windoze Workgroup?
Are any computers using a software firewall? If so, has the software firewall been figured to all access to the shared printer?
What OSs are you running on the computers?

There both Window XP.
I will check the firewall.
I will check the firewall.
I would also check the Windoze Workgroup on each computer. Different Workgroups can screw with things. If they are both Windoze XP and the default Workgroup has not been changed, then you should be OK...but I would check it.
If worst comes to worst, you can try typing in the printer's network path. It will be ComputerName PrinterName (note no spaces between the slashes and names...I just used it because otherwise the forum software will screw up the formatting and where ComputerName is the name assigned to the computer and PrinterName is the shared printer name that you gave it when setting up the printer for sharing).

You apparently have two laptops in a networked environment. Please describe how the network is set up, how are the printers connected -
1. Are the laptops connected to a router or is it an "Ad Hoc" network.
2. How many printers connected to each computer.
3. How many printers connected to the router.
4. How are the printers connected to the computers - USB or Parallel
5. Can each computer see the other computer?
6. Are all printer drivers installed on each computer?

We need to revisit question 1 - Are you using a router?
From the answere to Question 2, you only have one printer, is this correct?
If the printer is connected to the desktop, the desktop must be on, and then when you click on Start -> My Network Places it will open a window and on the left side in a box titled Network tasks is an option that says View workgroup computers. Click that and it should show all of the computers that are on and connected. In the desktop and both laptops are on, the display on the right side should show all three computers and the names you assigned to them.
On the bottom left side is a box labled Other Places. The icon at the bottom should say "Printers and Faxes". Clicking on that should show all installed shared printers. If you do not see one, click on Add a printer in the top left of the Printers and Faxes window. See if the Wizard will help you install the printer.
