Is this happening with the power adapter plugged in? Or is it only with the battery and no power adapter?

It happens with both the adapter plugged in and with the battery just running it. The indicator lights come on for the cd drive but they just come on then go off. Ive also tried it with another battery for the laptop but it does the same thing.

When it was last turn off, did it shutdown properly? No error messages or other "problems"?

Do the batteries have some sort of external indicator of charge level? If so, are they showing as being charged?

Have you tried a different power adapter?

Any weird power surges or electrical storms between when it was working and now?

Arsen1c - most laptops have three lights on the front. One for power, one for the AC Adapter charging the battery and the third for HD access.

If the battery is discharged which it sounds like, the battery charging light should be lit. My latest HP laptop also has a lit ring around the AC Adapter socket when the adapter is plugged in.

On my older laptop, the brick has a light on it to indicate it is receiving power. You might try plugging into another outlet. If it has a standard plug into the brick, you might try changing that power cord.

What you are describing is a laptop with an almost totally dead battery. I have seen the symptoms several times on my laptops.
