I have a unique problem, and I have searched for hours to no avail. I registered at some places and found out you had to pay to post, blah, blah. Alright here's the scoop:
I have a Clevo 3.4 GHz, 1 GB, Ati Radeon 9700, 60 GB laptop. This laptop was running fine Monday, I had just bought it. I ran it for a couple hours, the video was unbeliveable. I found out the guy included another GB of ram. He said it was AS IS. I put it on, but it took me 15 minutes to get in, and while I putting it in, I was juggling the laptop around.
When I tried to turn it on, the screen was BLACK. No video. I messed around with the RAM again and put 1 in again, and it didn't help.
I'm guessing it is something to do with the Video Cable Connection. I don't think anything is faulty, it's just loose. It is not lose connected to the LCD itself or from the LCD to the motherboard. I don't know where else to check. The Inverter OK is green, everything appears to be working. It turns on and you can hear it running, fans on and all, but the screen is black, and not even coming on.
I don't know if this is any signifigant, but I found out that if I pull the inverter hard enough that a White screen comes up. That's it. Just White, and if you even let go a litte bit of pressure that disappears.
I know the motherboard, is good and all, it was working fine.
The laptop is a part. But one queston, I can't seem to find the video card itself. I see where the LCD Cable goes from the LCD to the motherboard, but the piece in front of the keyboard is covering the rest up. So I don't know if anything is under that. I can see the Motherboard itself and all. Everything appears to be good.
I'm 99% sure the Video Card, Motherboard is good.
Help? Feel free to ask more questions. It's a Clevo D47.

Have you tried hooking the comptuer up to an external monitor and seeing if you get a picture?
