Sir,

Have you had the opportunity to use or test the Panasonic RR-US500 unit. I have two units within less than a year, and this is all I can say about it: The controls are so poorly designed that it's highly susceptible to accidental recording, pause, playback, and erasure... transfer of files from the unit to a computer is next to impossible... when the second unit was acquired and its software updated via Panasonic's online service, it was downgraded [?] from version 1.06, to 1.05A... and the coup de grace: Very poor customer support/service.

Fortunately I have a back-up, an Olympus WS-100. No software to install... at half the price of that Panasonic, but more than twice in performance.

Could you suggest a make and model that can at least meet Panasonic's promise of text-to-speech, speech-to-text, and translation promises?

Also, could you suggest a venue where I can air about Panasonic's service and product to the widest possible readership to alert them.

Thank you.

Perhaps I missed it -- where is the link to buy this recorder bundled with the software mentioned? I found the recorder on Amazon, but I didn't see that NaturallySpeaking came bundled with it -- it didn't appear to be. thanks.

I am very disappointed with the Dragon Naturally Speaking software. It did not transcribed my dictations accurately. If only the performance was delivered like it was promised. All i got was, "she she she..the the." I do not recommend this product. Does anyone know whether we can return it to the manufacturer with a refund?

You maybe need to train it longer. Doc Soft speech-to-text has default setting on training so you don't need to train as much. The program is meant for large organizations though.

I have a friend who uses it and it does quite well. I agree with the poster who said perhaps a little moe training time is in order.

If you are looking for a speech to text services, I will suggest this website is www.speechtotextservice.com. They offer different services, I once tried an academic transcription offered by SpeechToTextService and it did not failed my expectations. The result of the transcription was great and in high quality. And the processes were easy and fast, they can meet the deadline as earlier as possible, around 1-7days. I assure you that they offer a high quality services with an inexpensive cost.$1.2/min if it is rush, you can see the offers to their site. If you are looking for a company with highly experienced transcriptionists, you should contact them immediately! :)
