I use Yahoo! Mail Basic. A couple of months ago I was having a problem with email and contacted them through Help. Instead of helping me with my problem, they sent me back a shpeal about their new email service, that costs $ a year. They always say: "the wheels of progress are in motion" but that was just ridiculous! Paleeezze, don't try to sell me a service when all I need is a little help... X-( LOL

There are so many good email programs out there. Which one is your fave, the one you use the most? And, do you use Microsoft Mail with it also?

I have At&t as one of my email providers and I use Mozilla Thunderbird in replacement to Outlook Express for my on computer email downloading. I also have a Gmail account that I use on a regular basis.

I don't get as much spam as I do on my Yahoo email account, that's for sure. I have also used Hotmail and was very dissapointed with it.

Techie4fun, Hi. Wow, you really don't get as much spam in Gmail? That's awesome! :0 I've heard of Gmail, isn't that an email program with Google?

yup it is with google, one thing thats good about it is that you can report spam, so it automatically doesn't show on your inbox but in your spam box.

How could you be dissapointed w/hotmail? I use 4-e-mails (Yahoo,Centurytel,Gmail and hotmail) and find hotmail to be my favorite. I get 0 spam on my hotmail account, whereas my inbox is full of spam on my Gmail.

I could not stand Hotmail because of the uttermost spam I received, continuously! Hotmail was terrible about spam, and unfortunately every free email account I used with Hotmail had nothing but spam each day, so I just said to heck with it. I even used the spam filters, which didn't do anything. Hotmail is on my list for the not so favorite. Gmail on the other hand, has been the opposite!

Adama- Gmail short for Google Email.

I was just checking my email and still have zero messages in my spam filter. :) Along with my second Gmail account, No spam in my Spam box either!.

Ok, guys, now I'm curious. You can have 2, 3, even 4 email accounts, all in different places? How do you keep track of all your incoming information? You'd have to be a wiz at organization to keep it all straight, wouldn'tcha? ?:|
I know, I know.... this is all probably old news for you guys. You're all teaching me soo much.... :D ...Thank You! LOL

I've only recieved 1 or 2 spams through hotmail ever. And that's without the spam-filter on. My Gmail gives me quite the contrary of what yours gives you.

Adama, you are correct. :-) All in different places.
It's all within the head as to what you can do. If you think about it, I could be running 4 email accounts, one with my At&t which is my main, my 2 google accounts, and my yahoo account, and I use all of them to keep in touch with my friends, except for the exception of one, but that's still 3 accounts that I use. It's not too hard keeping track of all of them as it is remembering all the login information. I've never had much of a problem with it though as I usually keep the same password for about 5 of those free email services. I once had 7 email accounts total, and I didn't know what to do with myself :^0 but I somehow still managed. I even remember swapping emails back and forth to friends with all of my accounts. Do I still do that now? No, but I can still do it if I wanted too.
Old news? Never! I'm glad you are hearing about all of our posters experiences.

Us geeks and email... what will you ever do with us? :D

Lol, I used to have 6 e-mails at one time, until I deleted 4 of them, and now I'm back up to four again! I too, use the same password on all of my online acounts, that'd be PCW, hotmail, Youtube, yahoo messenger, gmail(ugh...), centurytel, photobucket, ebay, amazon, cnet, dell online, Myspace, Blogger, flickr, wikipedia, crackle, etc.

Ok, TechyGuy, lemme see if I got this right? You use the SAME password for all your email accounts :0 ???? - gasp - Isn't that like breaking the top #1 Cardinal Rule of Computing ?:| if there's such a thing... ?

Don't all the IT Professionals and both camps: the Billies and the Stevies, always emphasize that you should have one password per account? At least, that's what I've read in several mags. They say to do that so the spammers, phishing baddies and malware spreaders, etc., would have a harder time getting your personal information.

But what do I know, I'm running like a mad crazy woman, just trying to keep up with you tech guys. :^0 LOL

...... ((( I'll pray for you ))).... aaauuuummmm..... aaauuuummmm..... aaauuuummmm

Well, how do you know that I'm not just saying that to fool any hacker who may've viewed that post? ; Or what if the password is some 14-random character uberpassword? And I 'd think that the true "Cardinal Rule" of computing/passwords would be not to give out your password(s) in the first place.
Or, what if all of my passwords have the same "word" in it, not specifying caps or appendages to it? See where I'm going now? ; No need for password-prayers, but thanks anyway. :-)

ooooooohhhh, I get it! :0 Silly me, for a nano second I got afraid for you. I guess my chanting did help after all, if only to clear my mind to better understand all things computer and techie! LOL

Thank you, TechyGuy. I'm sure learning a lot from you and everybody else here at PCW. B-)

We use Lotus Notes here at the office (barf), and I use Thunderbird to check my personal mail at work. I use my Mac's built in Mail program at home. (I have Entourage on my Mac, but I've never used it. Mail.app is just fine for me.)

I have three addresses that I use regularly -- my PCW work address, my personal address on Earthlink, and my .mac email address. I have a couple GMail accounts in case I need them, and I probably still have a Yahoo account floating out there somewhere.

My parents use Outlook Express, my sister uses Yahoo, and I use Gmail. When I finely make the switch to Linux I'll use Thunderbird. I tried to hook my Gmail account to Thunderbird but I couldn't get it to work.
