I was wondering if anyone could give some feed back on Likes/Dislikes or Cons/Pros of the " Asus Striker Extreme nForce 680i SLI Chipset LGA775 FSB1333 DDR2 Mainboard."
I've read a couple of reviews and heard some mixed impressions.
I'm not big on Over clocking, in fear I might burn away my hardware, but the striker is one of the top end Motherboards. If you're going to go all out on one piece of hardware for your computer it has to be the motherboard. It's the key to future upgrades and what components your able to put in your machine from the get go.
If your very much against the Striker maybe you could also give better alternatives to it.
Thanks ahead of time.

The spec.'s on the Extreme are excellent. It seems easy to plug everything into it.
Will handle dual cores, upper-end PCI-e and Dx10, all the other items without breaking a sweat. It is designed for overclocking, in fact Asus can assist you in O/C'ing it. Honestly, I would buy it for that purpose, but that's something, {O/C'ing}, I like to do.

I agree with you that the mobo determines everything. I have no negative thoughts about the board, although I do not have. I wouldn't hesitate to get it, generally, for an upgrade.

The one thought is that I believe the Extreme is 1-2 years on market, I would like to have a better idea of durability before I'd pay for one.
