Hahaha what do you mean "do you have time for anything else"?

I listen to music while browsing the web, doing homework, driving, and even while I play my Nintendo DS.

Yeah I saw it at Wal-Mart but I had just bought FF III and Digimon World: Dusk.

I like rock music. Mostly stuff like KoRN Marilyn Manson System of a Down Disturbed Orgy and Mindless Self Indulgence.

As far as working/studying goes when you listen to music for me it depends on how much concentration it requires. Sometimes I'll be bored without multitasking otherwise I'll be annoyed the distractions when I am trying to concentrate.

Hey Requiem! The new album is worth listening to. A little more easy but same Eagles. So, what about taking out the trash, cleaning the house, washing the Car, you know!

Hey Aurora! Don't you have some down time where you can listen to something more melodieus, you know like, meditation, or after a long day relaxing in a hot bath, just to recover and put things back into perspective. Thankx for sharing with us.

I don't have a lot of meditative cds. Its hard to find ones that can really beat silence and nature for me. Many try to add in some sort of music to it and I would rather let go. I did have an oriental garden cd filled mostly with soft violin (I think) and nature sounds that I meditated to a lot before. It was one long track mostly with rain and it was good. Then it got scratched haha, didn't help much after that. I had this other Tibetan cd (sort of a sampler) that came along with a Tibetan Meditation book (I'd give you the title but I'm not sure where it is right now in the move). The tracks just didn't sit well with me. I guess, I would rather surround myself with my meditation statues water and crystals to meditate rather then music. The right one would help. If you have any suggestions let me know.

Hi, Aurora. I'm glad to hear that you like to meditate in nature. I often do that too... becoming quiet enough to hear the sounds of nature, the birds, the soft breeze dancing between the leaves, etc., helps you to feel connected with all things, with Gaia, with God/Goddess/All That Is.... kind of like what Aang says....
I do have a couple of fave meditation CD's, Temple In The Forest (Inner Harmony New Age Music) by David Naegle. It has only two tracks: Temple In The Forest and Eternal Sanctuary. It has piano, synthesizers, electric piano and natural effects that help to create a natural stream-of-consciousness, taking you to a place where you can breathe deeply, expand your mind and walk into the garden of your heart, and sit with Buddha, Goddess, Christ, your Angels, your Higher Self (Soul), etc. I would play this CD softly in the background when I used to teach meditation classes. It's excellent for quieting the mind and becoming receptive to Higher Guidance. I also have other CDs and cassettes that are wonderful for inner journeys to the stars and to Space.

Anyway, have a great rest of this Sunday, and a great week :D !

Thats cool there were these cds from one spirit I was going to check out sometime. They are specifically designed to initiate certain brainwaves that will help induce deep states of meditation.

http://www.brainsync...sp?specific=166

There's one, and lets see if I can find a regular link for the other one. www.OneSpirit.com is the book club im talking about that has a bunch of cool stuff if your into meditating and things of that nature.

http://www.amazon.co...n/dp/B000001OOP theres the other one. I haven't tried either one though.

Hey Aurora! I will suggest a few CD's but, I don't know if they would fill void.I have made copies of these CD's for my sister and she has enjoyed them.So here goes:Secret Garden, they have five(5) so far.ENYA, she has many but I think AMARANTINE is her best. ENIGMA, which ENYA partnered with on a few occasions. Mike Oldfield, from TUBULAR BELLS fame, has three(3) of those plus a recent one,MUSIC OF THE SPHERES, and NEW TIMES. There's also a small program which I am reluctant to mention because of the price, but this might just fit in. It is called NATURA SOUND THERAPY. You actually program the Sounds that you want to hear, be it running water, chirping birds, wind through the leaves, well you get the picture. There is a seven(7) day trial, I tried it and it does what it says and my sister bought the program and just loves it.www.download.com/3000-2054_4-10720966.html.This is where you will find the program,if you decide to try it. Well this is all the help I can be for now. Let me know how it all goes.

PS. This program also has a brainwave stimulator.

Sounds cool. Right now I have a lot of work to do on my computer because my windows is out of it and I don't want to put the time into fixing it. So instead I'm just going all for Linux right now I just upgraded so I got to configure everything then see if I can mount the drive so I can access my old files before there gone forever. It would also mean more configuring to run the thing your sent me. Looks cool though I'll defiantly keep it in mind and check it out later. Isn't enya like a singer? I could be wrong. As far as sound meditation goes I have a Tibetan bell set, I forget exactly what they are called but I have been meaning to use them more often. However I don't have them with me at the moment. I have always been one to listen in silence. Sorry to ramble I'm tired. The nature thing sounds pretty cool.

Hey Aurora! You're up late, no wonder you're tired. As for me well i work late,my excuse.Yes you are right ENYA is a singer, but no singing with ENIGMA. I sure hope your new install doesn't take to much out of you. You could always ask for help, I'm sure everybody would love to lend a hand. Talk to you soon.

Yep I will ask for help if I need it. Unfortunately there are only a few people I know of on here that really specialize in Linux the numbers have been growing though. For now I enjoy the challenge its refreshing.

I didn't read his post but NPR is national public radio. Pretty good news/intellectual station. http://www.npr.org/
If we are adding those stations to music I listen to classical as well on the radio.

I listen to NPR in the mornings, and they also have lots of their programs in podcast format in iTunes.

I forgot about the Itunes podcasts. There are a bunch out there with so many different podcasts. I enjoy listening to the Cnet and Macworld podcasts. I just started a subscription to some Mac radio on Itunes. Good stuffPosted Image

Hi flashorn, I go from the old 50's-60's-70's R&R, 60's-70's soul. As far as classical music goes, I did like the sound track from " A Clockwork Orange". I also like Enya and Pink. I guess I can find something to like in most every genre except Rap and Hip Hop. coastie65
