You might want to post this in a new thread, rather than latching onto an old thread that is not directly related. It would help more people find your issue and potentially offer suggestions. A moderator might be able to split it off to a new thread ([~44270]...are your ears burning yet?).
As to your issue, I am not sure where InstallShield 2008 Premier evaluation came into things. Did you have this already installed? Or did you install it after you had downloaded the iTunes/Quicktime installer and had problems, hoping it would address the error message that you got? If it is the former, then I would uninstall InstallShield 2008 and try installing iTunes again. And I am assuming that you downloaded the iTunes installer from Apple, correct?

Hi Lillix. Welcome to PCWorld. :-)
A couple of points:
- As Smax stated, it is best to start your own Discussion rather than create a post that has nothing to do with the existing Discussion.
- I have moved your post into its own Discussion and renamed the Discussion to attract the other members within this forum.
Please respond to Smax's questions and we can proceed from there.

Sounds like you have done the main thing that I would have suggested...remove any older versions of iTunes/QuickTime and reboot and try installing.
I have stuck at this point. It sounds like either the installer that you downloaded got corrupted and is missing some stuff...or it not able to properly intiate some things that it needs to install. The best thing I can suggest (if you have not tried it already) is to download the installer again. Uninstall all the Quicktime and iTunes stuff that you have currently installed (if any at this point), re-download it, and try installing again.
The only other option that I can think to do is to call Apple (if you have not done so already). You get one complimentary support call for a new iPod if you use it within the first 90 days after purchase.
Now, I did find this thread...it might help. Another thread suggested trying the Micro$oft Windoze Installer CleanUp Utility to clean up old iTunes/Quicktime install crude and then try reinstalling (I would try this with my above suggestion of redownloading after uninstalling).
Hopefully, one of this will work so that you can get using your nice new iPod.

To solve this situation, couldn't you just go back to iTunes.com and download another iTunes application? Even when you get this resolved, you would not be able to get the full use of iTunes allotted to you. On top of what Smax has already provided, once you resolve this situation, completely uninstall your current iTunes and go back to get another download.
You spent two weeks battling this issue. The least you should do is contact Apple, as Smax suggested, and explain this situation. Regardless of whether or not you resolve this problem on your own, contact Apple. You may be able to get an extension on this particular trial. If not, go with my original suggestion and download another iTunes application.

Well, when trying what you suggested about that link about installsite.com I think the link was not available at the moment or was broken, (nonetheless I'll try this one once again later to check if it works, but the think that makes me doubt a little is that it kind of gives me the hint that is for previous versions, but I'll try again)
And to answer mph..... I checked the number to call but the thing is that my iPod was purchased in the US by my dad, but I live in Peru, and they don't have any customer support number in Peru, so far they do not mention any number for Peru in the worldwide numbers section, and the e-mails are for the itunes store, so I'm actually freaking out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I'm getting desperate and annoyed now!!!!!!
well, guys, hope u got an answer since u are the experts

I tried cleaning the quicktime with the windows cleaner again and tried to install this again, but new things appeared, quicktime installed until the part that the ISScript.msi is needed, which appeared as always when the validation is taking place so as always I had to put finish to the notification that says there was a mistake yadda yadda.... and then I checked and the version of Quicktime 7.2 appeared in my computer and it opened but none of itunes is there, so I tried looking for the standalone version of itunes as there was some weeks ago to at least try this one that is not all packed and they have all the package now, so I don't know how to proceed anymore, should I install a previous version and try to upgrade it or what? do you personally have the standalone version of iTunes? because the error remains and now Quicktime opens but iTunes(which is the one that I need) doesn't
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beyond that, I can only suggest calling Apple. The US number to call is 1-800-275-2273. Now, since you are in Peru apparently, I am not sure how that will effect things (i.e. will the call go through to a US toll free number?).
Beyond that, I am stumped.

Hi Lillix19. I do not believe there is anything more that we can do that either we haven't suggested or you haven't tried. You may have no choice but to reach out to Apple. Now, since you are in Peru, you may be able to have your dad place the call and then call you, in essence creating a conference call.
Good Luck and please keep us posted.

I don't know anything about computers....but...however, I resolved to intall all other Isscrip.msi files available, i.e.version 8, 9, 10. 10.1, 10.5 and 11 , because I thought the Itunes guys could be using a different engine. So, I found a different website (as there is no link to download 10, 10.1, 10.5 and 11 at installshield website) and installed everything in my computer, from version 7 11. Here is the website source:
http://zhidao.baidu....6394.html?md=1.
Before installation, I made sure itunes and quicktime were completely ininstalled from my computer.
Also, there were still two erros during the final installation of itunes + quicktime....I have no idea what they meant. However, they didn't compromise the installation and I finally could use my ipod normally
I hope this helps a bit,
good luck.
