Hi there. . . I also hate the fact that it has come to this, but so be it. Some goof ball at the HP factory must has done something wrong while putting mine together. We told Best Buy to keep it for as long as possible and to keep us out of this horrible loop because NOW the whole problem is between Best Buy and HP and told the clerk to have his manager contact HP about this issue. I actuallly don't mind Windows Vista because all the problems were with HP.

Hi FenderyGuy2112 - my problem has never been a virus because my PC is very well protected. The problem lies with HP and whoever put together my PC did not do a good job - probably was in the middle of a coffee break and forgot what he/she had already done and messed up my hard drive!

Hi Adama - - Thanks for your message and I am glad that my PC is back at Best Buy and this is the 4th time, and hopefully, the last. Best Buy and HP need to have a serious discussion about my computer and figure something out. The last time they put in the new hard drive, they probably used my recovery discs and once again that culprit came up over and over again. So, at least it's in their ball park now. Time will tell what they come up with. Thank you and everyone for all the help
Susan

Hi there Rgreen4 - Best Buy is back in my good thoughts now. My new PC is wonderful and working fine. Yes, Florida was have a lemon law with computers also and I printed that out with all the pages I typed with all the errors from my past PC. We took it back on a Saturday and said we never wanted to see that one again. Two days later, on New Year's Day, Best Buy called and said that I would be getting a new computer, although the Manager said my previous one was not a lemon. . . just didn't work correctly, but that I do deserve to get a new PC. Now I had a newer model of this one and a faster processor. So far, it is as good as Bobby's and I'm sure it will be fine forever. Thanks for your help.

I am glad they resolved it for you. They are also up in my esteem, which is good, as Best Buy is the only major computer outlet here in S. Georgia on I75. I do find it interesting that they did not want to call it a lemon, just that it did not work correctly - precisely the definition of a lemon, especially after all the attempts to fix it.
