Good Lawd. I don't think anyone will top this! LOL It seems like the top three speeds are within the San Francisco area. Very interesting. :-) Roger, if you do not mind me asking, how much do you pay for almost 27Mb of speed? ....also, I just had a thought.....is it Mega bytes or Mega bits ?

LOL Well, I figured Kellie's work result was a T-whatever but I figured everyone else was a home rating. Not too long ago, I priced T-1 packages for residential service....$329 per month was the lowest. No thanks. LOL

At the shop, we have , what Insight calls, a small business pkg., and we have 15 Mbs, down and 5Mbs up, and its $60 a month,........but those speeds ARE NOT guaranteed, and fluctuate , with network traffic, ..........fortunately, we get most stuff done, before the brats, all get home from school and start with the bit torrent , bandwidth hogging, nonsense!!

Yeah, I think you won the speed contest. I thought 15000 KB/S was quick, but you just topped that times 2 and that upload speed is quicker than dynamite for crying out loud.

Hi mph, Yeah, 300+ is a bit pricey. Verizon offers a 30 mbps package for, I think, $180 per mo. I don't know what the upload speed is. Did you notice that Kellie's upload speed on her business test was faster than the download speed? That's weird, considering everyone else's download speed was faster. Also, I noticed all those tests in S.F. were at 50 mi. Heck they're sitting on top of the server. They ought to run to at least L.A. or Seattle. If I ran a test to S.F. it would show 9800- 10100 mbps down because of all the stuff between Richmond Va. and S.F. coastie65

Hi Coastie. Yes, I defintely noticed that. My results were based on the New York server; however, since I am using mobile broadband, I have to take into account how close I am to a tower....literally less than 150 feet. I can look out of my back bedroom window and see the tip of the tower.

Hi spike, that is one of the upsides to fiber, bandwidth hogging isn't an issue. The speeds are relatively stable. I had one instance where my speed had dropped off. I called Verizon and they straightened it out pretty quick. coastie65

We may not get fiber optics for many years, there is no public outcry for it, but , when we do, I'll probably go for it, for the reasons you mentioned.

Hey Piyush!!

You know, those are not bad. I thought you meant something like

150 to 200 dl and 30 or 50 upload. So, what are you complaining about?

Piyush, I did know it was a joke but, you explain so well that I could not

miss the opportunity to let you. (explain)

OK, this is just for you Piyush!

Hey Piyush!!

LOL! You are SOOOOOOOOO funny. I promise not to trap you again Piyush,

but, you stepped in just at the right moment.

This is one of the things that used to get me into trouble LOL.

I was thought by the best "My Father". He used to trap my Daughters this way.

Now, my youngest is turning the tables around. Guess What, he doesn't like it

so much anymore. We reminded him ,how much fun he had with his Grandkids.

And that now , the Grandkids are having some fun of their own so, he should

just grin and bear it. Payback is so sweet!!!!

Thank You for the SpeedTest and for not getting mad at me.

Hey lilx, Actually Verizon such upgraded the packages. I haven't called yet, so I am still at the original speed of 15 down 2 up which has been upgraded tp 20 down and 5 up. I got the Landline with no long distance, FiOS TV, plus the Internet in a bundle for, I think, $130 or so per mo. coastie
