I own a Sony Vaio FZ series, Model # pcg-384L. I bought it at Costco (saved like $400), nonetheless they managed to leave out the fact that it's video card sucks. Does anyone know anyway to fix this?

Also, If not, how easy would it be to take a desktop with Windows 98, and a Pentium III and make it a decent gaming computer by like doing some upgrades. By decent I mean the equivelent of DirectX 10 capabilities...

Hi!
Upgrading a video card already inside a laptop.. That's a tough job, and it isn't as simple as replacing a video card in a regular Desktop PC. I don't think it can be done. Would you be able to trade that laptop you bought in for possibly a new laptop at Cosco for a better laptop with an improved video card? I know that seems like a stretch, but in all honesty, I don't build laptops, so tweaking inside one without professional guidance is pretty scetchy.

Well, I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that it's impossible or extremely hard to upgrade a graphics card in a laptop without getting a new motherboard. and as for the desktop, there is absolutly no way that you'll be able to play DX10 games with windows 98 and PIII processor. You might be able to keep the existing hdd, cd drive, and case, but other than that you would need to get new parts.

Unless you r laptop has a removeable ,GPU, ............................and if you paid less than $ 1500, ......it doesn't, .......then your stuck with what you have.

Turning a win98 and pent III into a modern computer with upgrades , ..........you can't , currently , get a DX10, GPU, in AGP, and the FSB is ,......WAY TOO SLOW, for adequate through put, and would cause near constant video lag.
