Hi thanks for your reply, i tried the link you gave me and everything downloaded ok but same problem as before when i tried to sign on kept getting error message saying there wasent enough disc space/ or memory to open the programme, this is incorrect as i am using a duel core proccessor with loads of available disc space and memory, the problem is this link is for AOL VR and im looking to install the old AOL9 version. Thanks again for your help.

I don't know where to find an older version except for VR. I used a Google Search to bring up that last link given, but you may have to ask around.

A few things we might be able to do that you didn't already do.
When you uninstalled and reinstalled AOL, did you delete the program
folder on your hard drive? Doing so will allow you to create a fresh
directory, and if AOL happens to crash again, we can look more towards
other software on your computer that may be conflicing with AOL "running in the background programs" when
you try to login to the service.

Before I close and leave this post, what version of Windows are you running?

Hey well to delete that file you must find out who the manufacturor is and then it will be under that.So go to your local drive, do you remember what the folders name was that you install this program under?? If you do go to that and push delete. And also when you installing are you sure you are saying to install to your hardrive as one day i was trying to install it to my dvd drive. Good luck

Okay, you are going to want to locate "My Computer" icon on your desktop, and double click on it. From there your going to want to look for any icon called Local Disk C or D icon with a hard drive symbol "double click on it." I would prefer if you tell me what you see when you log on your computer, SO, click on the following links and tell me if you get to an area that the photos are displaying to you.

http://i166.photobuc...chie419/mc2.png -- in this photo, if you can see the folder called Program Files, AOL's folder should be in this unless you have more than just Local Disk C

Let me know what you come up with.

Hi , i clicked on the 3 links but sorry i dident see any photos, i tried Aol`s Live help and they said it was a problem with my Virtual Memory, they told me to set my Virtual Memory to Initial size (MB) 900 and Maximum size (MB) 1500, i did that but still got the error message saying AOL VR could not open due to lack of hard disc space or low memory.

Hi Gemini. I believe the best thing you can offer is to provide us with your exact computer specifications. You mentioned some general information but what are your exact computer specifications?

Hi Gemini. Okay, I doubt this has anything to do with it but your Page File should be 1.5x time size of your physical memory. So, increase your Page File to 3GBs.

Also, what is the total and available hard drive space?

Hi Gemini. :-) Don't worry, we were all novices at something. :D

The easiest way to increase the Page File is to:

- Right Click on My Computer and click on Properties

- Click on the Advanced tab

- Uner the Performance section, click on Settings

- Click on the Advanced tab

- Under the Virtual Memory section, click on Change

- Select the C: drive (partition)

- From this point, you can set the maximum size (MBs) to 3069

- Click OK/Apply until you get out of all those screens

Hi Gemini. Those members that have been around for a while know that I do not give up that easily. :-)

As much as I personally despise AOL, LOL :D , I am going to install this myself to see if I can duplicate your issue. I have some control questions for you:

- Please tell me at what point do you get this error message.

- Does this error occur at the same point each time?

- Have you tried to disable any active security application before installing this application?

- Have you tried to install this application within Safe Mode?

Hi,the error message always happens when the programme has installed and i try to sign on , on the sign on page the screen freezes and the error message about the hard drive disk space/ low memory comes up. The error message happens at this point every time. Ihave disabled security programmes and tried to run in safe mode but nothing seems to work.:(

Well, I feel dirty now. :-) LOL No, in all seriousness, I was able to install and log on to AOL with no problem. I had to signup and give my credit card information :-( but I immediately was able to log in and use the service. I have since canceled my service and uninstalled the application.

I am not sure what else we can do. I know you may be partial to 9.0 but you may want to look into getting 9.1. You can download it here.
