Few months back i planned to buy a digital camera.SD1000 seems a good choice from a price-performance perspective, but after seeing my friend's Canon SD700 pictures i was totally disappointed with the pictures from SD1000. I aslo tested quite a bit comparing pics and the Sony was much better,The only issue is the sony does not take great low level lighting pics. Now after doing extensive research, i planned to go for SD850. It is far far better than SD1000 and i can say it is the real successor of SD700. It has all features of SD700, in addition to that it has many more features which is not available in SD700.I am totally impressed and Satisfied with my SD850.

Hi ITman, I just bought an HP PhotoSmart Mz67v Digital camera. One reason for this was compatibility with My HP PhotoSmart C5180 printer. So far I'm pretty pleased with it, but still have a lot of experimenting to do. It is 8MP with 6x optical and 8x digital zoom. What surprised me was, it has a Video mode with built in mic. I'm not sure how much video you can shoot due to battery life although you can use SDHC memory cards up to 8Gb. I got some 6"x4" photo paper and had printed out a couple of pictures and am quite pleased with the results. That 850 caught my attention as well, but opted for the HP. Also I was happy with the $149 price tag. I lucked out and ran into a sale on Kodak SD 2Gb memory cards for $16 and change. I'll know more about the camera after I play with it some more, but so far I'm pleased with it. coastie65
