We need more Info to possibility help you, like : 1) the SPECIFIC Name of your Operating System ?
2) the SPECIFIC Name of your antiVIRUS program, including Version Number !? 3) the SPECIFIC
Name(s), except AVG Anti-Rootkit, of your antiSPYWARE/antiTROJAN program(s) . 4) Have you
tried any other antirootkit programs ? If yes, give SPECIFICS .
I have never heard of "Windows" "finding a rootkit" !? SPECIFICS please .
As a "General" Start to help cleaning your computer, I recommend using the FREE "RogueRemover",
available at www.malwarebytes.org/rogueremover.php .
P.S. SpywareBlaster "prevents" spyware from getting on a computer; it does NOT "detect" and
then "Quarantine" or "Delete" .

First, I have reworded your Discussion to show exactly what your problem is. Please be as concise as possible when posting any concerns. Second, since your problem is in relation to a downloaded virus, I have moved this Discussion from the Web Browsing & Email Community into the Privacy & Security Community.
Now, Spirit has offered some good suggestions, please follow them and ask any additional questions you may have.

Since AVG 7.5.503 is an antiVIRUS program, I assume you have no antiSPYWARE/antiTROJAN
program(s) ; therefore, I recommend you install, update, then run the "Complete Scan" of the FREE
version of "SUPERAntiSpyware", available at www.superantispyware.com . If that does NOT
resolve the "problem", I recommend, if it will properly install, AVG AntiSpyware, best downloaded
from [http://www.ewido.net] ; this is a free 30-day "trial" of the "full" program, which includes
"real-time" protection and Automatic Updates. After the 30-day trials ends, it reverts to the "FREE"
version, without those 2 features .
It MAY be helpful IF you remember the Name of the "trojan" and post its Name here !? Any portion
of the Trojan's name MAY be helpful .

The PRIMARY antiSPYWARE program I wanted you to use is "SUPERAntiSpyware"; did you install
it and follow my Instructions !? It is better than AVG AntiSpyware .
Based on your AVG AntiSpyware Scan Results, I recommend you use the FREE "VundoFix",
available at www.atribune.org/content/view/24/2/ . Let me know the Results .
You are running these Scans while NOT on the Internet !?
I want to check the "status" of any Java program you MAY have on your computer, which CAN be
a Source of Malware getting on your computer ; therefore, go to :
[http://www.javatester.org/version.html] AND tell me WHAT it says in the "box" under
"Method 1: Ask Java " . Hopefully the "box" is Pink !?

It is time to refer you to more experienced & knowledgeable
people ; therefore, I recommend the "HijackThis" Forums at the highly regarded Castlecops "group"
and SPECIFICALLY to www.castlecops.com/f67-Hijackthis[uSpyware[/u]VirusesWormsTrojansOhMy.html] .
Follow the Instructions there .
For removing the "crap" that comes with new computers, I recommend
[http://www.pcdecrapifier.com] and the FREE program there .

A quote from the top of the link page:
There are a variety of reasons you may have arrived at Malware Removal and Prevention (MRP). If you are here to do a thorough system cleaning or just a checkup, then MRP will guide you through that process. Perhaps your computer is showing symptoms of infection: Popup ads, general sluggishness, or browser redirects, to a name a few. If that is the case, MRP will offer you a good chance at restoring your system to normalcy.
