Hi lil, I was "gaming" when the only game in town was pinball machines as Video games hadn't come along yet. I remember they introduced this new table game called air hockey and that was the thing. It wasn't long before Pong came on the scene and the quarters were leaving my pocket. In about 1979 or 80 the quarters were being dumped into Space Invaders. It was in 1983 when I bought a Commodore 64 and thought that was the greatest thing since sliced bread. In 1985 I "moved up" to a Commodore 128. Those old 8 bit games were something else. I was only playing from time to time after a while as I was involved in other things. My Nephew got a new Gameboy Color with a bunch of Pokemon games and one Zelda game. It was Oracle of the Seasons and within a month he had the companion game Oracle of the Ages. I was hooked. He got a Gameboy Advance and the an Advance SP. Another game came along called Golden Sun and got addicted to that. Waiting 5 months for part 2 of the game was terrible. Anyway I have been hooked since the first Zelda game and haven't looked back. As for the age thing, don't tell my barber, she thinks I'm 40. coastie65

I'm a little late to the discussion but here's my vote for the Wii. I purchased one at WalMart last month and there's hardly been a day my wife & I haven't been on it. My eight- & nine-year-old great nephews love their Wii.
I'm hooked on the golf game, my wife kills in bowling. And when we feel a bit sedentary (we're both retired) we play a trivia game. I find the ease of play, game options and physical excercise appealing features of the game.

Depends.
Get a Wii if your up for really high excitment, and want to really be in the game. And I'm hearing always from my friends, that they are worth there money.
PS2 is very inexpensive, and the new games will come out eventually for the PS2, with exceptions. Decent graphics, not as good as newer systems.
PS3 is just pretty much an upgrade of the PS2, except comes with newer games, higher quality graphics. Good choice, not the best.
X-Box comes in different styles, of which are all excellent. The choice of games for the X-box are good, some of which can't be played on the PS's or Wii.
Overall, I would get a Wii, because I need excitement and want to be in the game. It may cost alot, but i'd be willing to pay it. Next, i'd get the X-Box because of there high quality rating in almost every department of rating.
