I was wondering if I could install Ubuntu Linux on my other, empty partition with out burning it to a CD? It is even possible?

Hi Requiem. Ubuntu, for example, requires the Live CD, or the actual Ubuntu CD to install onto your hard drive. The only option that I can think of is to download the Linux, or Ubuntu again for an example, directly from Ubuntu. This link explains that you can download Ubuntu; however, it is an .iso file that has to be burned to a CD.
Your only option, at this point, is to find a fully functioning .exe, .rar, or .zip file of one of the Linux Operating Systems and download it. Now, I must note, a file like this could leave you susceptible to viral infections and other malicious applications. Do so at your own risk.
