Hi Eveyone,

This is my first time posting here so I hope I do it right.I have a question about burning games.

I want to download a game off the internet then burn it to disk I`m not really sure how to do it.

Do I download and save it to desktop then burn it to disk? I was going to dowmload a game onto a disk for my Grandson. Will that worl?

Thank you in advance. Wishing everyone a safe and Happy Holiday:-)

Hi Littlebity and welcome to PCWorld. :-)

Well, there is a very gray area when it comes to downloading and burning. The first questions I have for you are what is the name of the game that you are trying to download? Also, from where are you trying to download the game? From these questions, we may be able to tell you what you would need to do in order to burn the game.

Thank you for the welcome mphenterprises. Sorry, I guess I didn`t give you enough information.

I wanted to download Mario from this site : www.download.com/Mario-Forever/3000-7435_4-10588652.html

or anywhere that I can that is safe. I have burnt programs before but never from a download so I`m not sure how it works. Thanks for trying to help

Hope you have a very Happy Holiday :-)

Chances are if your getting the game from download.com that it's not copy protected, if it's there anyone can get it- anyway copy it to the desktop and drag and drop it into you burner program, look to be sure it has the installation files there, setup.exe , don't be suprisedif the computer you are putting this on must be hooked to the Internet to do the install, usually games like this, all you will get is a loader program to get the rest of the game from the net

Hi Littlebity and Happy Holidays to you. :-)

As GoneFishing stated, you can definitely burn this to a CD; however, this is a 20MB executable file. Why waste a 700MB CD-R on a 20MB file? In my opinion, instead of burning this to a CD, go down to your local retailer and pick up what's called a Flash Drive. Flash drives are basically modern floppy drives. Click on this link to see an example of a flash drive.

Normally, those that have been on this forum long enough know that I preach online retailers such as Newegg.com. In this situation, I figure this may be some type of Christmas (or Post-Christmas) gift and flash drives are inexpensive anywhere you go. With this option, you have two gifts in one.

- The game which can easily be copied and pasted into the flash drive

- The flash drive itself, which once the game is installed, can be used countless number of times

Now, just a word of caution. Even though this executable file (.exe) is from a reputable site (download.com), please do not forget to scan the file for any type of viral infections. If you do not, you could infect your computer, the flash drive, and subsequently your grandson's computer as well.

Hi,

Littlebite,You can definitely burn this game into cd.all you have to do is just download that game from which ever website you are downloading and when downloading just save this game in your computer.you can use nero software to burn ......just make sure to check multisession option when you are burning coz ur game is of less MB and as you are burning it to 700 MB,with multisession you can burn again in the same CD....
