There's something on TV I'd like to record, but I dont have a (working) VCR or recordable DVD player thing (it's too expensive, so I dont want one anyway). I do have a digital camera and it can record for how long I need it too...but I dont know how. I was asking a friend of mine how to do it, but he said I needed to use a camcorder with a tape in it and then hook it up to my computer...but why cant I just record it to the digital camera's memory stick? Does anyone know of another way to do this?

Without aDVR, VCR or other video device, a camcorder either tape, harddrive or DVD type will not provide you with a satisfactory copy of anything recorder via the optics of the device. This is because of the display format of the TV, its scan rate, refresh rate and the scanrate and refresh rate of the recoding device. What will result is a lot of blank screens and screens with black bars running across them. You can try a test with the unit to see the result. Good luck
