I would like to add some info .
there is a little difference between using print screen and using ctrl+print screen. When you use ctrl key with it , the clipboard copies only the active window, while using printscreen key alone copies to clipboard the entire screen.
So if you want to get multiple windows in one screen use print screen .
And ya, vista's snip it is the completely customized tool and very handy.

Hi MPH, I didn't realize that you preferred starting a new thread / discussion each time you submit a question that appeared to be the same as an existing one. I am bad about doing that myself, so i'll keep this in mind for future refference........

Hi Bunk. It's not that I personally prefer starting a new Discussion. Starting a new Discussion allows all of our forum members a chance to see that person's problem separately. For example, this Discussion has long since been marked as "Answered." As intelligently pointed out by another member, if a Discussion is marked as "Answered," another member may be less inclined to see what new response was posted.

Also, once a Discussion is marked as "Answered," another member may elect to stop receiving notifications about that Discussion. If a new member posts a new concern within that now Answered Discussion, only the people who are currently logged on will see that post. Since only the last 25 Discussions are visible on the main page, that new post can get lost very quickly.

Opening up a new Discussion gives everyone a chance to see the new issue and potentially refer back to a previous Discussion for reference.

Hi, Piyush, good point. Like RGreen mentioned in his answer to me, the ctrl key does not work on some laptops. That's why they include the fn key.

You make an excellent point, as always, MPH. When people first come to our Community with a problem, they often don't know how to start their own Discussion. Well said.

Also, I think that Documents are an inmensely helpful tool, but since there's no update function when someone posts a comment, they get lost deep within the bowels of PCW. So the thing that could help people the most, is not available when needed, IMHO, or you have to search for a long time to find it.

Yea, that makes sense..... I keep finding myself replying to older stuff because it pops up on the most recent list, without realizing it's older. I will start watching for the indicators like: answered / multiple pages, ect........ This forum is different than what i'm used to ;-)

I didn't know this Adama, but this is a post I was attempting to make about 3 nights ago. I kept getting the same error that the member posted the details of in PC World forums dicussion. I guess when it finnally post 3 days later it post all my attempts ???? I myself only see it one time as I write this, maybee a Mod already fixed it ????? Some weird stuff happens here........... :0

Regarding "insert/prnt scrn" on the same keyboard key: I have a Dell Inspiron 2600 with Windows XP: to perform the initial capture of the screen, I hold down the "Fn" key (bottom left hand corner next to "Ctrl")then hit the "insert/prnt scrn" key. This does put the image on the clipboard. After that, follow the directions listed above. It has taken me 6 years to figure this out.

This is an old thread. As to the topic, Insert / Print or just plain Insert ( Depends on the keyboard ), once you've hit that key, bring up paint then Paste and it will paste the image in Paint. You can then save it to a folder. This works in XP, VIsta, and Windows 7.

Some older keyboards have " Insert " on there as well.
