Right now is 52 degrees, and I don't know if it'll get any warmer than that today.

Probably not as you've pretty much reached the peak for the day. The rain has started moving in here and at 34 - 36 degrees, it is raw outside.

Just beginning my week in the COLD country, and I do mean COLD. I arrived in Anchorage, Alaska this morning, greeted by minus twenty degree F. It warmed up to minus eleven and a wind chill of minus twenty. I catch my flight to Prudhoe Bay tonight and it is presently minus twenty eight with a wind chill of minus fourty. I'll be there until friday and the forcast is for more of the same, maybe a little warming during the day, if you could call it that. A little twilight around noon, otherwise it's dark the rest of the time. It might warm up to near zero but I don't think it'll matter much. It's nice and warm inside and I'm hoping to get some snacks to put in my bag to take with me. Some chocolate bars and trail mix to munch on to keep my strength up. Shivering burns a lot of calories.

Hey mjd, In in Prudhoe Bay, I don't think there is any twilight this time of year, all night. Not much for tanning on the beach, that's for sure. !http://forums.pcworld.com/legacyimages/

Coastie: If I remember my trip from last year, it gets a bit brighter around noon, but the sun never comes above the horizon. A real switch from the other trip I make in July when the sun never goes below the horizon.

What are you, my new Weatherman? LOL :p

It turns out it did get lower today. It's 46 degrees and they expect it to go down to the low 30s during the night.

:^0 Actually, this time of year the temp usually peaks out at around 3 PM, then starts down. I have seen the high temp for the day right after midnight and then it fell too.

When I lived in central Virginia, I got used to keeping an ice scraper in each vehicle. I think I may still have one around somewhere, but after being back down here in S. Georgia for the last 19 years, I have no idea where one is. Funny, they don't sell them down here either. I have messed up a few credit cards scrapping the thin frost coating we get occasionally. I used to keep old credit cards around for that, but now just keep the depleted Wal-Mart shopping cards, as there's no risk of anyone getting a number.

It's almost 9:30AM, overcast with a few light showers, in other words, yucky. Of course the temp is 61F, so it could be worse.

Yeah, it could be that cold rain we're getting. I mean to tell you it is raw outside.

I was sitting here and kept hearing this noise and realized it was heavy Thunder. It's not but about 45 degrees. Man, what screwy weather.

That was me the other day, when I kept hearing noise coming from outside and it turned out to be raining. LOL :^0

We've been having another gray day, right now it's 48 degrees. I wish the weather made up her mind to rain, because we really need the rain here in CA.

Yeah, looks like most of it has been going to your North, although SoCal got those flooding rains a while back. We've been hearing about the rain deficit out there as well as the areas to the south of us. They have been getting some much needed rain though lately. Man, they just had a thing on the news about a big wildfire in Boulder Colorado and they're talking about some huge Volcano underneath Yellowstone. I'm just going to stay here with my computer and games. Things are getting crazy.

Yeah, they been having small quakes on a regular basis and now there is some concern. They are definitely keeping a close eye on it.
