Big Birds, Big Droppings. Just be thankful that Elephants don't fly. Currently it has warmed up 2F in the last 3 hours to 45F. Supposed to get to the mid 50's, but I wonder.

Speaking of big birds, recently a flock of bald eagles have taken up residence just outside of town here right on the side of US-20. There's always cars pulled off and people taking pictures of them. Last time I was out there, there was about 35-40 eagles, in trees and sitting on the ice near the river. Pretty awesome sight...

To stay on topic: It's sunny and 38 degrees here, supposed to get up to almost 50. Probably going to take the kids to the park later, it's a heat wave!

35-40 Bald Eagles - that must be an awesome sight! Hide the small dogs and puppies though.

Yeah, no kidding! It's a pretty desolate area where they're at, just a backwater of the Pecatonica River that the highway cuts through, so there's no houses or anything close by. That's probably why they're in that spot. We're about an hour from the Mississippi River, and I've seen quite a few Bald Eagles out there, but this is the first time I've seen them this close to home.

We have em nesting along the James River. It is mostly Park or undeveloped along the river, except in the City. They seem to do pretty well consisdering the proximity of population. I have seen some Blue Herons flying overhead on occasion which surprised me as we are several miles from the river. Sea Gulls don't surprise me as we are closer to the County land fill then we are the river. Those Sea Gulls would be lost puppies if they ever found the coast. We have snow to the west of us, but appears to be drying out before it gets this far. My thermometer is showing 53 degrees at the moment.

We got an overcast and in the mid 50's. I think rg is either getting hammered or just about to as the radar in that area is nasty looking to say the least. coastie

Currently getting light hammering. North of us apparently has had some real bad stuff, however.

Right now it is moderate wind, lightning and moderate to heavy rain.

There was a big ol waterspout spotted over the Gulf moving N.E. and was to make land fall around Valpariso Fla. I know there was one killed in the Atlanta area when a tree landed on their car.

Our weather today was cool...with pretty consistent overcast in the latter half of the day. It was nice and sunny when I was out shopping this morning, but I really wish I'd opted for a jacket.

Right now, 38 degrees and a mix of rain and snow. I would like to just relax on the couch for my last evening at home, but today is my dad's birthday and my sister and I (and our respective families, of course) are taking him out for dinner. It's supposed to be partly cloudy and mid 50s tomorrow, and nice and upper 60s the rest of the week 'till Saturday. All in all, not bad weather for getting back out on the road...

Right now, it is about 55 degress with a mix of sun and clouds ( mostly clouds ). Supposed to rain tomorrow and the day after. This keeps up, and I'm going to need a bush hog to cut the back yard.

I haven't even mowed yet! Probably this weekend I'll summerize the snow blowers and get the lawn mower ready, but our grass is just starting to start to turn green. Just two weeks ago we had a few inches of snow on the ground- you never know what you're going to get get this time of year.

Lawn Mowers are up and running in these parts. The pollen will really be on the increase in the next week or two, as the trees are starting to bud out. By the end of the month the cars and everything else outdoors will be yellow with the stuff. If my dog Andy was still with us, he would be having a fit about the back yard as he didn't like tall grass much. When I would get out there and start working, he would get all happy and start running all over the yard ( thought he was the yard boss). I'll have to make do without the "Boss". My mower and weed whacker both started on the first pull after having sat all winter.

My friend, you are going to have to get back up on that horse. A home without a buddy, is just a house.
