Twice this article suggest using Save As to avoid messing up originals. That is fine, but not always remembered in the process of editing. To mitigate the possibility of forgetting, I first copy all my photos in a batch to an Originals folder before editing. For large bunches, I burn to CD or DVD then delete.
When I want to add photos to my digital frame, I copy everything of interest to a folder named ToResize, then resize those images before moving them to the frame.
