You can't just move a bunch of programs to another drive without uninstalling and reinstalling them one at a time, unless you clone C to D. What size are these two drives and how big is your Documents folder?

The two drives are 80 gig each. (actually, its one drive thats been split into two 80 gig parts, total of 160 gig)

the file sizes i dont know. thier big movie, music, and picture files as well as some software like games and stuff.

Ahhh.... it's the movies that are eating up the space. Just cut and paste them into a folder on the D: drive. That should give you lots of room.

OK, that sounds easy enough. But what about the software? do i have to reinstall it on the D drive and delete it from the C drive?

It should not be necessary to move any software. Don't forget to empty the Recycle Bin after you have moved the movie files. What kind of files are these movies stored as - mpg2 or avi?

Leave the software alone.
Just move the big movie, music, and picture files.
You can also grab them by the folders that they are in, cut them from C and paste them in D.

When you are finished make a you can make a programs folder on D if you want, then you can put some new programs on D if you want.
Make it D: Program Files

AND THEN
When your all done, and everything is working the way you want, and youre all happy,
you must defrag both hard drives.
This is very inportant.
;)
