this happens when i try to send an email to someone inside
another website through a link- gmail is my default email - the "mail to" window
opens - says loading - hangs and stays there- and no way
to send the email. problem is - i cannot even find out what the
person's email address is because in the website- you only see the
link - i have no clue. This all happens no matter what website I may be in to send an

email.

How do you access you Gmail account? I am assuming web based email.

The issue could be that you don't have a local email client (like Outlook or Outlook Express) setup enough for it to create a message. Even if you don't actually use it to send an email message, if you have some "dummy" account information setup so that the email client could start up, it would create a new message that includes the email address to use, which you could then cut/copy and paste into the web based Gmail email.

The other possibility is that your email client is corrupted such that it cannot fully open. I would suggest right clicking on a document on the desktop or somewhere on your drive and select "Sent To > Mail Recipient" from the pop-up list and see what happens. When you do that, a new email message should be created. If it does not, then that is further indication that something is wrong with Outlook Express (it is the default email client, unless you install and use something else).

I went into Outlook and couldn't figure anything out. Took it out as default email but that didn't do any good. I know there is a google forum, maybe someone on it is having a similar problem. First I'll try that suggestion of right clicking sent to see what happens.....will let you know.....B-)

right clicking and sent to mail recipient didn't do anything. The thing with outlook is I've never used it, it was although configured as default for my ISP email, not sure how that happened unless it's automatic. So, having never used Outlook not sure how this would affect Gmail. Whenever I've tried sending mail from within a website in the past it has always opened up to Gmail. So this must be a relatively new problem to the email app.

Hey whatup! If you have Outlook as your default email, you will have to change to GMail. I personally have three web based e-mail client .

One for work,( my default being Windows Live Mail) and this forum, a second for online transactions (Yahoo.ca) and a third for family (GMail).

I just tried to email a link from another website and my (Default mail, Windows Live Mail) came up with all the info. needed to email whom I wanted. I have been using Hotmail(now Windows Live Mail) for three years and have no regrets. works all the time.

If you would like to look into it here is where you will find the info. needed. http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview .

Hi Flashorn.....I do have Gmail....this is the problem Im having, that if I am in a website...say, 'state government'....and on a particular site like, 'tax info'....it will say if you have questions click this "email link" and send us an email.....well, my Gmail account being my primary would always open up with the site address already to go....but now, it begins to open and just hangs there. Doesn't open in a website to send an email. Don't know why it's not doing it, always had before.

Hey whatup! Nice Avatar. Have you tried changing your default to another email client and see if it's really gMail. It could be on the other end. You know"Government"

Hi Flashorn.....it's working again....not sure why, possibly when I had the other 'secure message' problem with email accounts and that was fixed possibly it sent a good 'whamy' to gmail. I actually found out about it by accident opening another website email, (forgetting that I had that problem) it opened up then I remembered the problem and thought, wow, it's working again. Went to the online tax info site and thier email opened up. So, I thought, all problems solved. Till the next one....but I've always got a place to go if something happens....HERE!:)

Hey whatup! Glad your issue is resolved. I hope it stays that way LOL!! Now may I suggest that , if you do not have a second e-mail account, That you DO open one up. If for no other reason than the prob. that you experienced. There's lots of web mails that you could choose from. And also, any time you would like to register to an account on any website then you can be sure that any spam would not interfere with your primary e-mail account. Just a thought.

talk to you soon.

Hi Flashorn, actually I do have other email accounts, probably have too many. But the primary is Gmail, second primary (use to be primary) is Yahoo. Then a bunch of others (small in storage size) that I don't really use that much like 'inbox.com' and 'operamail'....use to use opera browser most of the time but switched to a few others like Firefox and Maxthon, two that I use the most. I know what you mean though, keeping the primary 'blemish free'....I use it mainly for serious transactions, family mail, bank transactions, etc.

I have an unrelated question while I'm here....I was looking for the 'signiture' in profile, preferences, etc, but couldn't see it. I notice some people have quotes etc, wanted to sign my user name and maybe the answer to 'what is life' (lol) (it's a song by george harrison, hehe).

hey whatup!! Thankx for the simple question, LOL. OK , the Black Bar over the forums main page , you have New , Your Stuff , History ,...

Click on Your Stuff. a drop down menu appears. Next click on Preferences, once you get to that page, scroll down to the bottom of the page , there you will see a "settings page" in a link like blue , Click on the link which will bring you to the page that you seek. There you can change or upload whatever you like. Now don't ask me how to insert those name bars, cause I DON'T KNOW.LOL!!

Talk to you soon.
