As far as i know , this isnt a new service , then y r u saying it a beta ? Any major change ? I had earlier also used PCW shop n compare and its engine is synchronised with pricegrabber .The link in this thread leads to a slightly different page with changes interface. Its looking better.
I have a small concern regarding shop and compare and i think its not worth a new thread so i ll put it here. I had added a user review to a product around 5 months ago, now when i go to edit /update the review ,the service has no options for it (only option to add new review). Any solutions ?

We've just launched a beta version of our new Shopping (Shop & Compare) section. It is located at http://www.pcworld.com/shopping/

Please visit, poke around, and let us know what you think! We are looking for general feedback as well as specific bugs and issues. Do you think it's easier to find stuff? Do you think that it is arranged in a good way? Does it give you what you are looking for?

Please post your comments, observations, bugs, and thoughts here. We take your feedback seriously and are eager to hear what you think (and make changes based on what you think)!

Very cool except that your Software link says dead page. You guys are probably still working on things so that may not be up, but if it's suppoesd to be up, I just reported a bug ;)

Anyway :)

Wow, the PCWorld Shopping Section is awesome! I looked around and found things are easy to check out and get info on. The pictures are clear, the information is pretty complete, and the ads are not intrusive at all.

It was a good "window shopping" experience for me.

Which link did you click on that was dead? I clicked "Software" from the right side menu and it worked fine for me.

Also, it's helpful if you report your OS, Browser name and version with your bugs.

Thanks!

Ah, now the Software section is working Posted Image Not sure what caused that. It would have been http://www.pcworld.c...y.html?id=10211 that I clicked on before that came up with the dead link.
OS : Windows XP Pro

Web Browser: Firefox 2.0

There are new features and functions, but the biggest change is that it is an entirely new interface. We're asking to see if it is easier and more intuitive to find what you want and need.

I'm particularly interested in feedback around the user reviews experience, as that's my piece of this particular pie.

A site like this is only as good as its search engine.
Search works good, search filter works good.
Well laid out, easy enuff for my Monkey Man to navigate.
Loads fast enuff. Some of the sites that get linked to load a as fast as a slug, but thats not your fault, if they load like slugs they will never get my money.

ALSO
It would be nice if it would link to a few Canadian outlets too, you could just have a small red Maple Leaf after the seller's Icon to indicate a Canuck joint.
XP Home SP2 & Firefox2 28.8 Dialup ///

And Igor liked it too.

"I certainly enjoyed visiting that place with my friend Mr.Snorg!!"

Thanks everyone for your feedback up to this point. It has been helpful and generally positive, which makes us feel good about launching this for you. We'll continue to tweak the shopping section over the coming weeks, so please let us know if you see anything confusing, broken, or just not working how you would expect. Thanks.
