Hi Vishnu. First, I have changed your Discussion title to give a clearer indication of your question. For future reference, please be as descriptive as possible in both the heading of your Discussion as well as the post itself.

Now, the information you have provided to this point really does not tell us anything or give us any type of direction to troubleshoot your concern. Do you mean the top of the application that provides all the functionality features like those found in this screenshot:

Do you mean that the File Edit View, etc. line is not available within any Office XP application?

Being the swell guy that I am, I decided to mess with it some. So, I went into Excel and did the customization route (right click any where in the toolbars or menubar and select Customize... at the bottom of the list) and dragged the File menu down into the body of the spreadsheet, which deleted the File menu from the menubar. I then proceeded to start to add it back in...until I did not see a way to add it back it. OK, so panic started to rise a bit. Looked and looked. No dice. Tried this and tried that. No dice. OK, so panic was getting rather high at that point and was starting to wonder why would I want to try to help someone when it will hose my system.

And then I spot it. If you go into customization, when you get into the Customize window, select the Toolbars tab. In the list should be a Menubar item (in Word and Powerpoint it will be called Menu Bar, in Excel it will be called Worksheet Menu Bar)...select it. Then hit the Reset... button. That should do it.

Assuming that I am understanding your problem correctly...

And...no more panic (for me at least)!

LOL Hi SMax. Thanks for almost taking one for the team. :D If that is Vishnu's situation, I am sure he or she appreciates what you just did.

If you have no menubar you wn't be able to change or add your toolbars like the other guys are saying because you wnt even be able to access it, so that will not work.

Here's a fix to your prob.

click start >> run

Type "winword /a" in the run dialog box and press enter. This will open word reset it to its default settings and re-instate your menubar.

Heres a link to some information that explains it all:
