They were the absolute best site on the net with streaming. No buffering, no waiting, a massive selection of great vids.... and now they're gone. You can view the videos until Thursday, after which the site will shut down.

This is all due to those greedy bastards UMG. They claimed Stage6 hosted pirated vids, but they could never provide a list of the vids. When they finally got off their fat asses and made one, Stage6 promptly removed the offending vids.
>Stage6 owner Divx has suffered a legal setback in a copyright battle with Universal Music Group (UMG).
>
>In a legal filing published February 5th,2008, Judge Dana Sabraw denied a request filed by Divx to prove Stage6?s legality outside of the UMG piracy trial.
>
>To understand what this means we have to go back to when UMG first contacted Divx about Stage6.
>
>The dispute started in 2006 when UMG sent a cease and desist letter to Divx. UMG?s letter accused them of providing pirated material on Stage6. UMG, >however, did not provide a list of the infringing video?s, but instead expected Divx to review and remove all UMG content.
>
>One month later UMG sent a second letter, but this time identified the specific infringing videos. Divx quickly removed the videos from Stage6 complying >with UMG?s requests.
>
>UMG and Divx sat in silence for 8 months until UMG sent Divx an offer. For 30 million dollars UMG would allow Stage6 to show UMG material legally. Divx >balked at this deal and decided to chance any legal proceedings UMG would file.
>
>Divx complies with all provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). UMG would have to question the DMCA?s safe harbor provision if they >wanted to attack Divx directly.
>
>With possible legal proceedings looming, Divx made a bold move and asked the courts to rule on whether or not Stage6 is protected under the safe harbor >provision.
>
>Six weeks after Divx?s legal filing, UMG made good on their threat and filed a lawsuit accusing Divx of digital piracy. This new legal case would allow UMG >to regain control of the DMCA safe harbor lawsuit and caused Judge Sabraw to file a judgment.
>
>Sabraw ruled that a separate trial would not be needed and wrote in the discussion section of the judgment that ?the DMCA safe harbor analysis Plaintiff >seeks here will be more completely and efficiently undertaken in the Central District, where the court will be able to determine Plaintiff?s compliance with >respect to particular copyrights the Defendants identify in the course of those proceedings.?
>
>Even though Divx?s lawsuit has been dismissed, they will still have an opportunity to defend Stage6 and the DMCA safe harbor provision in court.
>
>This court battle gives the impression as though both sides will stick it out for the long run, potentially costing Divx significant legal fees.

I hope UMG burns in hell for this :D

Maybe they'll come up with something else, under another name?
What other alternatives for good, high quality video are out there? (besides Torrent.)

I'm downloading all the hard to find stuff and shows, and things I can't find on torrents. I'll find them a good home.

It looks liks Stage 6 is still in business. I just went there and I was able to watch a couple of Naruto stuff, short videos, 3 mins or so. Yesterday I was there almost all day (except for taking a break to publish my last PCW Blog.)
I ended up watching Naruto's Second Season, episodes 8 - 29, (I had watched 1 - 8 the day before) I was up until after 1 am. I'm going back in a little bit to try to watch as much as possible before the site goes down tonight.
Please, Cosmo, you guys, if you know of another good site that offers good Anime videos, keep me informed, ok? Thanks.

Here's hoping that they've seen the light and will keep the site!
Edit
I've currently downloaded over 800GBs of their vids...
I'm getting quite a few 400s, but I'm still at it and will be at it until they do shut down.
Also, I'm currently watching Eureka7 on Stage6.
Also, Earthlink DSL and Verizon Fios sent me some nasty emails from the bandwidth hogging :D
...(screw them)...

Also, I got some links but I have NOT checked them out yet, and I don't know if they are in Japanese with the english sub or not, but here they are if you want to check them out:
www.toriyamaworld.com and www.Toriyamaworld@irc.enterthegame.com
Also www.tvokay.com it says they offer free movies and TV shows.
www.ani.tv
and www.dattebayo.com I think these last guys are the ones who do the subbing for all of the stuff that comes out on Stage6, YouTube, etc., (yet I could be wrong about that.)
ps: About the bandwidth hogging, if you do that, don't they put you in some kind of black list or something?

At Stage6 I had to search and search and sometimes could not find what I wanted and I ended up watching it in Spanish, of all things.
The only thing I didn't like was that it seems to be affiliated with Facebook, Stumbl, (both blocked by me and Yahoo!) and a couple of other weird places like that. But I still don't know if I like it, or if I should trust it or not.

Veoh does stream DivX and AVIs in high quality. However, you need their VeohTV to get it, otherwise you end up with a 5min youtube quality stream.
I have a bunch of sites for watching TV online, however most of it is pirated so I cant post it here...
Veoh, Vuze, and OVGuide are your best bet for high quality streams (OVGuide is a collection of streaming sites).
Unfortunately if Veoh doesn't fix their "issues" they may suffer the same fate as Stage6. For now, they are one of the next best sites out there even though no site will ever match Stage6.
I did however manage to snag over 900GB of video from Stage6. I'll go through them and torrent the ones that are hard to find.
