Fast fingers on the mouse...slowwww down. Please help, thre shields appeared "error clear", "privacy protect" & "spyware mal & virus protection. The three shields acted/looked like the security shields fomm XP security settings (control panel) which was diabled/"turned off". IE would only allow spywareisolater.com (do not go there) to install...messages like "Worm.Win32 Net sky detected appeared..."softwarereferral.com & safewebnav.com appeared, flashes of web pages, bookmarks, etc. The last thing I saw before disconnecting and shutting down was a red "Privacy Danger" wallpaper over the XP theme. Meanwhile Norton antivirus software stated that my computer was safe! Please advise

Posted Image Hi :

According to Test Results from the INDEPENDENT www.av-comparatives.org/, Norton ONLY has

a 35% "Prevention" Rate; even the FREE Avast Antivirus Home Edition has a 37% Rate . IF Norton is your

ONLY security program on your computer, you are underprotected; at a minimum you should have at least

One antiSPYWARE/antiTROJAN program and the consensus is to have the FREE "SUPERAntiSpyware"

from [http://www.superantispyware.com/] .

As to your problem, I recommend you START by using the FREE "RogueRemover", available from

[http://www.malwarebytes.org/rogueremover.php] ; they recently added "softwarereferral.com" to their

database ; regardless of what is detects and/or removes, I recommend you follow up by using the

"SUPERAntiSpyware" program I mentioned . IF neither resolves your problem, you will need the

assistance of some experienced, trained, certified, Volunteer "Malware-Fighters" and I would then

recommend One or two of them .

P.S. IF Whatever is on your computer will NOT "allow" either RogueRemover and/or SUPERAntiSpyware

to be "installed", then I recommend you run the Online Scanner at [http://www.ewido.net] .

Thanks so much! I did install both to correct the problem, however, on my desktop; it is all white (should see the XP Windows (modified) theme) w/the Icons. This is where the privacy danger screen appeared every time I booted up. I still am recieving an error message dialog box on the desktop "cannot find file windows/privacy_danger/index.htm' check for correct file name or invalid path" periodically. The computer works fine. The background & theme are still correctly set/selected, they are simply covered by this white screen now. Please advise, thank you again
