Heilsa! I took off line and reformatted an hard drive on an Dell and reinstalled WinXp on it and need to get it back on line and get updates for it. I also setup an new laptop HP with WinVista on it and installed an modem on it to get online DSL. Then we put this laptop on a router. My question is this, the router gives me the option of installing the other PC Dell with WinXP on it. Do I have to install the Drivers for the Modem on the Dell WinXp and then install it on the router. Or do I just install it on the Router and thats it? How is this done? Does anyone Know and could you help in any way?

Heilsa! Do you know if I just go through the installation process the router has to offer or do I need the software the modem came with too? The PC with Xp is a fresh install of Xp and we are trying to get on line to get the updates for it. And the laptop has everything hooked to it. What I am trying to get at is do I need to unhook the modem and router? Install the modem and software on the Dell PC WinXP as it doesn't have the modem software installed on it. Then just hook the laptop and PC into the router reconfigure the router hooking it back up to accept the Dell. Or will I have to reinstall the router totally after I unhook it etc... Or do I plug into the router with the PC Dell and just run the router option to hook up another machine to it?
