Heilsa! I have just reformatted my hard-drive and reinstalled Win98. I am in need of a decoder for Interactual Player 2.0 I have an 192MB RAM, and a 400MHz processor. I also didn't realize I still had Interactual Player and installed PCFriendly by interactual will they both work off of the same decoder. If not lets go with the 2.0 first. I found one here at this link www.brothersoft.com/downloads/interactual-dvd-decoder.html and it is freeware. Will it work? Its the last download on the list. The one that says it's Freeware. If anybody could help I'd appreciate it very much!

I dont think old Sony has enough power to play DVD movies.
Media Player Classic comes with built in decoder, its free & uses few resources.
Download Media Player Classic 6.4.9.1 for Win9x/Me

Yes It should work.
Try it and see.
Remember to scan the file for virus before you install it.

Heilsa! It downloaded to CD fine, scan it, good, then extracted it to a folder I made named media player in C:Program Files. I then went to exe. it and this is what it is telling me in a box labeled ERROR STARTING PROGRAM: "The MPLAYERC.EXE file is linked to missing exportDDRAW>DLL.DirectDrawCreateEX". I then press ok and it gives me this box C:Program FilesMedia Playermplayerc.exe "C:Program FilesMedia Playermplayerc.exe" "A device attached to the system is not functioning". I'm going to put it on line and try to just download it straight from the site. If that doesn't work, there is another folder already in program files for an Windows Media Player. Should I try and out it in there if downloading it straight doesn't work. What device is not functioning? Thats weird everything seems and says its all running fine.

That error means you dont have "Direct Draw".
Also called DirectX.

Heilsa! It did the same thing. I already have Windows Media Player but it won't play a DVD. It won't even play a music CD. The new player that came with the sound drivers works good. But it's only sound no video.

Windows Media Player is NOT Media Player Classic.
Windows Media Player is from Microsoft.
Media Player Classic is NOT from Microsoft.

Heilsa! Oh, I thought they were the same. Well something is going wrong with the exe. of Media Classic. And that decoder I found is some file decoder that installs and as an application, I guess, I put it in accessories. When I exe. it it comes as an box giving me these options to decode specific files: To go from an source folder to an destination folder. Decoding type UUDecode, Base 64 {MIME}, Delete Source, and an Decode Files button along with an small button with an key on it and an exit button. Not what I was expecting.

Heilsa! You did it again snorg! The Directx worked and media classic works now. I uninstalled the decoder what ever that was and the PCFriendly. I left the interactual on just in case I find something for it one day. But all in all this project is closed. Now I can start loading the kiddos games on this PC and see if they all work. Hopefully all goes well in that area be on the look out for a post in games if you know anything about that area. They are old games and worked fine on here before but we shall see. Thanks again!
