I recorded a news event on a DVD+RW disk and want to edit out portions of the recording for archival purposes. If you're at all curious, it was Brett Favre's retirement news conference.
Can anyone recommend a program that handles this? Ideally, the program would allow me edit out pieces of the video and save the edited file to my hard drive for eventual buning to a DVD+R.
I already own DVD burning software (CopyToDVD) so all I really want is editing software.
Thanks in advance.

Might take a look at Adobe Premier Elements.

Here are the two I have used:
* DVD Shrink is primarily for ripping and burning dvds, but in it you can select which scenes to burn onto the new disk. It's a free program.
* Nero Suite, version 8 includes Nero Vision, which can cut out more precise portions of video. It is not free.

Hey Klaatu!!
Video editing software , you will probably find what you are looking for here

If not try the links on the left hand side.
I use allot of their free programs and they work well.
