I want to play World of Warcraft but I don't know if my laptop can handle it.

It's a Compaq Evo N610c .... here's some information on it:

I am trying to figure out whether to buy a new laptop altogether or upgrade my current laptop with a new videocard... what do you think?

I will upgrade the ram and the graphics card since you need 512mb of ram for World of Warcraft, I recommend a 1gb DDR2 ram and a
NVIDIA graphics card. :8}

You should be able to play the game on at least minimum video settings with only 32 megabytes of video memory; however, you need more system memory. 256 won't do it. If you plan to play WOW with interface add-ons, you know "downloads to enhance your game options," you will want more system memory.
