Safari on Windows?

It's been a couple months now. They released the beta version just a few light years ago and released a full version after that.
Why? I don't think it's a matter of why but for the fact that they did. To allow Windows users to play with Safari without the need of a Mac.

Its was released in beta form this past summer (I want to say May or June of last year). I don't know if/when it went into "offficial" release (this could be it). The just started delivering it through iTunes now for what ever reason.
As to why...what does any company do anything? To hopefully drum up more business, of course. Apple likely feels that if they can get some poor Windoze schlubs to try out Safari and they like it, they then immediately see the light and convert over to being Mac users. Personally, I am not so sure I buy that idea. But, what do I care...doesn't hurt me at all to have Apple product Safari for Windoze...who knows, I might actually try it out some day on a Windoze machine if I am bored.

I do.
I don't use Safari (just because IE works fine for me and also because so many sites use Micro$oft proprietary crap it is easier to not "fight the system"). But, Quicktime is NOT just a Mac thing. There are lots of sites that use Quicktime for their video content.
Now, I will agree that most of the people on Windoze use iTunes because they have an iPod, but not all. While I have an iPod, I don't sync it/use it with my Windoze computer...and I still have iTunes on it. It is still a good music player and all the iTunes content plays just fine on a Windoze computer whether you have an iPod or not.

Not that I have noticed. I know that is not too scientific, but it is what it is! ;)
