WARNING!! WARNING!!
_*
Do not Download! Or/And Install the Free Program UBCD4Win It is Full of Viruses!...Namely Trojan Horse PSW.Generics.AMB and possibly worse!...

If you already have Download the Program and not Installed it then you are Lucky! Try checking it with an Anti-Virus Program as I did with my A.V.G,you will probably Not find a Virus threat, while it is in the .EXE format,it is only when you Install it that the Problems show up!

I was suspicious of this Extra Large Free Download! It all looked too Good to be True! Luckily I always Virus Check Before and After Installing such Programs, before I ever use and/or go on their web sites ect. Which I recommend everyone should do!

The worse thing about this Program is how Crafty it is! While Installing the Program it Recommends, in I think German! or a Different Language to the one I chose! ( to Confuse more!) That you should connect to the Internet and let them check your Installation process ( I hope no one has done this!! ) because what this does is send them a Mirror Image of your Computer! All your Personal files etc.

I never done this! As I said when I Install free Programs I always make sure im not Connected to the Internet, then check everything Before and after with Anti-Virus Programs!

If someone has done this, then I suggest first Disconnect from the Internet, close down as many Programs as possible,I use the Free ENDITALL Program for this, where you can Kill any? Running programs, then Uninstall UBCD4Win

Then Erase the Folder UBCD4Win on the C: Drive I use the Free ERASER Program, Over write the Folder and contents at least 7 times, this takes a while to do but you must!

Then Uninstal all your Anti-Virus Programs and Registry Checking Programs and again Erase all Folders and Files! THEN RESTART THE COMPUTER!

Then Reinstall the Registry Checking Programs and RUN! Then Reinstall all Anti-Virus Programs and do a FULL Scan!...RESTART the Computer again and do the Process above Once more!

Hopefully everything will now be OK!

I Really think Free Download sites should Fully check any Free Programs for Viruses Etc. on an Actual Dummy Computer before they put them out for Download.

Well, I don't know where you got it from, but if you actually go to the official site and read about the installation, it says that one of the programs is mistakingly identified as a trojan by many antivirus programs. Taken straight from their FAQs:
-----
h4. Help UBCD4Win contains a virus, what should I do??!!!
Don't panic, NO UBCD4Win download contains any type of viruses or spyware (providing of course you have downloaded it from one of the approved mirrors on this site, we can not and will not vouch for 3rd party download sites). There is of course the rare possibility that one of our mirror site servers could be compromised and infect the files on it with a virus. For this possibility, we have listed the MD5 hash for ALL of our downloads. We have always suggested on the download page to always verify the MD5 hash of the file you have just downloaded.
Your AntiVirus most likely is just giving a false positive, this is where your AntiVirus mistakenly identifies a legitimate file as a virus. Unfortunately despite AntiVirus vendors best efforts false positives are common and are usually fixed within a couple of hours or days with the release of a new definition file. Check your virus definitions are up to date, if not run the update facility within your AntiVirus program to see if the issue has been fixed. If the file is still being flagged please consider doing two things. First, if you need to "ease your mind" that UBCD4Win does not include spyware consider using a free online scanner. Second, please send the file in question to your AntiVirus company so they can test the file. Here are links to a couple of popular free online scanners:
-----
If you download it from them, then you shouldn't get any viruses. If you download it from some other site, then of course there is a possibility. But if you're still paranoid, then you don't have to use it. Just realize that you're missing out on an extremely useful tool.

AVG...AntiVirus Has been around for a long time! so I am sure they know what they are doing! I still send out the WARNING!! DONT DOWNLOAD AND/OR INSTALL UBCD4Win

Why should a Company put out a FREE! Program that shows up clearly as having TROJAN VIRUSES!? it is either Bad Software Programming!...or Something else!...I stick with the Something else! better to be called a Fool and keep your DATA SAFE!...there are plenty of other Programs that Check out Clean!

Well, it doesn't clearly have trojans, since they aren't trojans. It is clearly stated that they are false positives. I've used this program for a while, and it is too useful to pass up. I wouldn't call you a fool, since it is always good to be cautious about these sorts of things. If you choose not to trust me or the program, then that's fine. If you're going to "warn" people about a false threat however, then I need to step up and say that it doesn't actually exist. Also, while there are some programs out there that do some of the things that UBCD4Win does, I challenge you to find one that does all of it, is customizable, and is all packed into one handy boot CD.

Personally, I don't download except from known sites and a lot of them use filehippo or something like that for their downloads. Also I have an active av program that scans incoming stuff. coastie65

Just to let you know, AVG puts out a few false positives. It has claimed several of my game executables as viruses, and even my own code that I just compiled. Take their warnings with a grain of salt, and do some research on their virus claims.
