I think it's a cool idea, but somewhat lame to imitate the Wii. It's original. It's unique. It's amazing! (not for long!)

Microsoft is going to copy somebody?
No way. It can't be. The world will never be the same.

I think Microsoft is getting ahead of itself here. Yes - the Wii is outselling everybody 2-1, but the attach rate is abysmal. Few people I know have ventured beyond Wii Sports with respect to the Wii remote (few feel the need to) and despite efforts, Nintendo really hasn't generated enough of a catalogue to make the remote anything other than an accessory for the game that ships with its console. Microsoft needs to generate a long-term plan including software partners to make this effort work within any sense of reason.

Attach rates are really nothing to go by. Since December in the US, Wii software has outsold Xbox 360 software on a monthly basis. With the release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl in March, don't expect the trend to have changed. Does it really matter to developers that the attach rate is higher, or the console is selling more software on the whole? I know where I would be encouraging my developers to make great games, and it would be on the system with the highest userbase.
