OK, I admit it...I'm woefully ignorant on a lot of the new computer technology stuff (I'm still back in the Basic and DOS era but trying to tolerate Vista). Here's my query...

I recently purchased a nice little (13-inch) Toshiba laptop, the Satellite U305-S2804, and love the small size for traveling. I am, however, stymied on just what the Bridge Media Adapter slot is for. I imagine I would have to purchase, separately, the card that fits this slot...but what it is for? I cannot find any information on this, other than cryptic comments about networking media, which I presume, means things like TV's, DVD players, audio components, etc. Since I have never seen one of these adapters, I have no clue what the port looks like or what it hooks to. Should I make a presumption that this adapter, for example, is what I hook up to a TV and audio receiver so that I can stream movies from the 'net? So...just what kind(s) of hookup(s) is (are) involved with this Bridge Media adapter...is it HDMI-compatible, for example?

I posted this way too soon. I just figured out what is the function of this slot, the Bridge Media Adapter.

It supports memory cards such as SD, Sony stick memory, etc. And...no additional hardware is needed! I was thinking it was something really High Tech...and it's simply a fancy name for a memory media reader slot.
