Now, you Must remember that the flow of info. IS only one way.
ANY appl. that has to write to the HDD will not succeed.
Hence, the DivX converter. Since it has to rewrite the movie in another format ,
the Sandbox will not permit this action.

hey flashorn
kindly read my post (14th) again. It says the divx converter worked and the player didnt.

Hey Piyush !!

That's the easy part.

To get to the CMD Prompt, all you have to do is right click on the Sandbox icon,

and mouse over the Default Box

from there mouse to Explore Contents.

If there is anything in the Sandbox , you will have the option to open a CMD BOX.

hey hey ....... plz read post 18th again.

you messed up with the joke . I already posted a sandboxed cmd . It was for you and others to do.

anyway gud nite.

Hey piyush!!

Yeah, I guess I messed up.LOL!

you got me.

I was sure I read the 14th right, since the converter was Sandboxed, it would make sense.

On the other hand , the player only had to read off the HDD.

I'll try that and get back to you.

Not good night piyush rather good morning.

Still haven't gone to bed yet. I guess it will be a very short night.

Hey Flashorn, view my photobucket links for installing Norton 360.
First off, I am getting an error (Service Not Implemented) in link #5, pay attention to it when it comes up.

Hey techie!!

You are the only one that has problems so far.

I think that Norton doesn't like to be closed in .

I will have to research that error 2205 , I can't see it in the data base for SBIE messages.

Right now though, I have some business to take care of

and probably will not be back before tomorrow.

In the mean time, why don't you check out the forum and see if somethings apply

from this link,

http://www.sandboxie...p?ConfigureMenu

I will be back sometime very late tonight and get back to you.

The beauty of this though is that my system isn't being affected so the game is try try again until you succeed.

No problem with being away. I'll keep the topic posted.

avg AV and avg anti-spy both failed. Mcafee AV also failed - didnt even start the installation and i got a infinitely long error message. Looks like the sandboxie environment isnt suited to applications that integrate deep into the OS as its just providing a file filter for hard-disk and system hive . maybe......

Small applications and utilities are doing fine.

Thanks for the notice. I won't be trying them if you've already tried it.

McAfee Firewall Plus installed with one error but the program ran just fine. Now let's try SuperAntiSpyware.

Spyware Doctor failed to install. I received errors. Both the professional versions of Avast and SUPERAntiSpyware installed flawlessly.

Hey Piyush and techie!!!

OK, now I have been able to install everything that I have tried to.

I don't know why you had so much trouble .

Piyush ! I have just installed the Zoom Player in the sandbox.(free player)

Yeah, always not very clear but, you can make out the "zplayer.exe" at the bottom.

Plus you can see that I have also been able to Sandbox the IE7pro's download manager.

You can see , in the task bar, the logo for the Zoom Player in the default box.

This is the Audio Player part of the Zoom. As you can see it does play

the Audio Files.

Oh! and BTW , this player installed ALL of the right codecs in the sandbox.

This is the Player minimized.(Looks allot like Windows Media Player , I wonder how they got away with it)

Next , I tried taknig a pic of the DivX files I WAS playing but , all I got was a Black screen. here it is !http://forums.pcworld.com/legacyimages/

You Can clearly see that the file was playing by the time and the blue bar

was indicating that a file was playing,Plus

at the top you can clearly see the name of the file.

piyush,

Which Player were you using at the time?

I even got WMP to play Sandboxed.

techie! are you still trying to install Norton .

If yes , then , are you having any luck with it?

OK, well my findings on this is that there is a way to install almost anything

(except the programs mentioned before).

From what I learned on the Sandbox Forum is, that you have to

"configure the Sandbox to adapt to the program you would like to install.

A little bit of tweaking should do the trick in most cases.

If you have anymore info. , let me know.
