I recently downloaded iTunes and Quicktime for WinXP. When I tried to remove both programs, I got Error Code 2329. Also when I try to install new programs they either will install but won't uninstall or I get an installation error. Most of my programs won't update either. If this is due to malware activity then my security programs have not detected anything because I have ran and reran scans but come up with minor threats or nothing. I have even used online scanners because I cannot install new security software and the problem stil persists. Does anyone have an inkling of what is wrong or how to fix this?

:D Hi :

A Google "Search" implies "Error Code 2329" is a "Windows Installer" Issue ; therefore,

you should tell us the SPECIFIC Name of your Win XP OS, like Win XP SP1, Win XP2, etc

AND the SPECIFIC Name of your "Windows Installer" ( Mine is Version 3.1 ).

As spiritwind highlighted , your windows installer is not the updated version. Try getting the latest version from here.

Have you tried using the iTunes installer program? If you use the same installer that you used to install iTunes (and QuickTime), it will now give you the option of repairing or removing the installation. In addition, there should be a QuickTime uninstall item in the Start menu folder for QuickTime. Sometimes using this route might be better than using the Add/Remove function in Windoze (although sometimes they end up using the same thing).

I have exhausted those options to no avail. I'm at the end of my rope. It's not only iTunes that won't co-operate, Adobe and many other programs will not uninstall.

Have you tried a program like Add-Remove Pro?

hi,

try installing the programs again and then uninstall them, and it works... if that doesnt works try restoring your system to an earlier time. or try some software to uninstall the programs, because windows' add or remove is really dumb, try REVO UNISTALLER, just google it. if you want any more help in system restore read the archived post at cyberspott.blogspot.com...........reply if doesnt works..............
