What they (apple ppl) are doing will make every pc user laugh. First their license agreement had a clause according to which safari on a wow pc is illegal. (source:another article ). They quickly changed that clause. Then they pushed safari as a part of their update program for other apple applications installed on wow.Now they change the update program into two parts and offer installation from there too. LOL . Pushing bloat onto PCs. Someone should tell them no one uses apple applications accept the mac users and ipod users who have no other options. :-)

Actually, a lot of Windoze people use an Apple application...QuickTime. Like it or not, it is a major video/media format that goes beyond Macs and iPods.
The mistake about the license was just a "doh!" moment by Apple. Thus, they fixed it.
The change in terms of the their update software on Windoze is in response to the righteos outrage of having Safari (and iTunes) pushed on people. I was rather disappoint in Apple for do that type of a Micro$oft type tactic of "forcing" stuff on people. I am glad they go their head out of their tushies and fixed that.

Blame 3rd party system integrators rathers than msft. Those things that are part of the OS cant be said to be "forced". Even the sp3 for 6 yr old XP doesnt install IE7 , WMP11 and windows defendor for the XP users .Nor any of those gets automatically updated .

Yes, but IE, WMP, and Windows Defender are NOT critical OS stuff. They are all items that Micro$oft decided that they wanted to "force" on people, whether people wanted them or not. It has only been after lawsuits and anti-trust ruling that Micro$oft has "backed down" some, but not much. They still pretty much foist that stuff on everyone. Windoze will run just fine without IE and it will run just fine without WMP. At one time it was virtually impossible to remove IE from your system if you did not want it...now it is just merely extremely difficult.
Point is that like it or not, Micro$oft has a well know history of "forcing" stuff on people...whether you consider that good or bad is the only thing that is debateable (personally, I don't have a problem with IE...in fact, it is what I tend to use regularly...don't really use WMP much nor Windoze Defender, but don't object to them being on my system too much).
