I have an HP laptop. I've had a problem with Quikplay popping up by itself while I'm working on other documents. It does seem to happen more when there is a disc in the drive, but there has been times when its empty. Its not a big deal but its more of an annoyance thing because at times it happens every few minutes. Any ideas on how to disable it?

Let's make sure we are all on the same page. Do you mean the application QuickTime or do you mean the AutoPlay utility that pops up when you put a CD or DVD into the optical drive?

Agreed. I'm not familiar with Quickplay. Are you talking about the Quicktime live update or your CD's Auto-Play?

Its the black screen with the gray Quickplay emblem in the middle and the cd controls along the bottom. I'm not real familiar with it either, it maybe HP's version of windows media center. I never use it but I wasn't sure if I should uninstall it.

If so, I do not believe this has anything to do with HP. Do you see Quikplay within your Add/Remove Programs utility?
