Hey darkcorsair!!

Welcome to PCWorld Community!

OK, so you're a student. How long will this printer have to last?/?

How MUCH are you willing to fork out for such a printer?/?

You don't want a HP unless we recommend it well, I'm afraid you just might end up with one( Just Kidding)

You know that brother makes a good printer so does Epson.

I guess it all depends on the budget you have .

We have had a ( ya, I know , another printer story ) HP 930C for the last 10 years . ALL we have ever done to it

is replace the ink cartriges and THAT's it.

I also have a OfficeJet 5610 All-In-One.

It does : print , scan , photo , fax. All VERY Well and this for the last 2 1/2 years.

Again, all I ever do is replace ink when needed.

So, my experience with HP is very good.

I did have to reinstall the software once and did up-date the driver once

but, as for the printer itself , not a glitch.

OK, so , if you tell us the budget you have , we will then start to look around and help you find

a printer that you will like.

As a side note , a machine is a machine and will eventually break.

A little bit of TLC will go a long way to safeguard your investment.

One more question , Do you want this printer to be of the Wireless variety.

You know, to be able to print wirelessly from say, a laptop or a desktop in another room?/?

Here , you might want to take a look at these

in the mean time.

Hey darkcorsair!!
OK, well, the budget that you have is a bit restrictive but, I found a few that would probably fit your bill.

Now , if you would consider "HP" again , then we "might" have a better shot at more options.

So, I'll let you decide whether or not you might be interested in these products.

I have also taken a snapshot of multiple resellers instead of just one.

TigerDirect.com

Newegg.com

As you notice, these are ALL from Epson .

All have good reviews from their respective owners

All are Vista ready . This is very important , as drivers are made specifically for this OS.

Take the time to review these printers and let me know if you would be satisfied

with one of them.

IF you would like to reconsider , I believe that the HP line would most likely give you better options.

But, this is up to you, as you're the one with cash.LOL!
