You can include PC as well as console games ..
first person shooters (FPS) - call of duty 4
action/action adventure - tomb raider legend
strategy - age of empires 2 : the conquerors
real time strategy - warcraft 3 : reign of chaos
racing/driving - nfs most wanted
simulation - ceasar 3
puzzle type - crazy machines
card game - hearts
1 on 1 fighting - mortal kombat 4
fav. multiplayer - counter strike:condition zero
new ones in sight - assassins creed (after the first patch comes) and far cry 2
I have included only those categories which i have . Others may add any other categories or skip any if they want.
An amazing free game that i would like to tell about is Little fighter 2 . It can be downloaded from lf2.net/ . It has single player play, multiplayer for 4 players on a single system and for 8 players using two systems. Really addictive game for all ages. Try it out. :-)

Hi piyush, I noticed you left out the RPG factor, surely there is one you like. :D Well, anyway, I will leave out a bunch of categories as I have a narrow field of games I play.

FPS : Crysis

Action/Adventure: This is difficult as there are several I equally like, Tomb Raider: Anniversary

Strategy : N/A

RTS: N/A

Racing/Driving: N/A

Simulation: N/A

Puzzle: Myst Series

Card Game: Hearts

1 on 1 : N/A

Multiplayer: N/A

RPG: Another toughie as I am a big time RPG guy, to pick one I'd go with The Witcher

Sports Simulation: Tiger Woods PGA Tour '06

Hi piyush, No, I really don't do any online gaming. My nephew says I don't play well with others, and he is probably right :^0 . I hate losing. Yeah, I have a pretty extensive collection of RPG stuff for the PC. The PS2 is mostly action/adventure stuff. I just completed The Bards Tale, although I missed a bunch of stuff. Those Myst things will drive you crazy trying to figure out the puzzles. My Nephew doesn't like them as there is no action. You're right, every one has a different taste, although, I do move into other genre's to keep things from getting stale. coastie

I try to play as few games at a time as I can.

FPS: Call of Duty 4
Strategy: Fire Emblem 6, Advance Wars: DoR
RPG: Guild Wars, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion
Multiplayer: Super Smash Bros Melee (I want Brawl so bad, but alas, no Wii)

The following I am not currently playing, but are my favorites:

Strategy: Fire Emblem 7, 8, 9 (want 10, but still, no Wii), Shining Force (the original)
RTS: Command and Conquer (original, never played any sequels), Warcraft 2
Adventure: Every Zelda game (haven't played Twilight Princess or Wind Waker yet), Ocarina of Time is the best of course
RPG: Tales of Symphonia (favorite game of all time behind Ocarina), and many, many others I can't think of (I'm an RPG guy myself)
Puzzle: Tetris (that game never gets old)
Card: Hearts, Spades

That's all I can think of at the moment.

So another RPG guy. And you also like hearts . that makes the three of us . lol

Hey kilme, Yeah, I have done a bunch of Zelda. I played Ocarina of Time on the N64, and I must have played through thing at least 5 times. I played through Oracle of the Seasons/ Ages on the GBC a number of times as well. My nephew had his Game Cube over when he was staying here during the day in the Summer when school was out, and I was pretty much through Windwaker. He hasn't brought it back, so I haven't completed it. I also liked Neverwinter Nights and played through that and the expansions several times. For a time waster I like Ball Blaster and to a lesser degree, Bejeweled II deluxe. coastie65

Hi piyush, I was playing Hearts way back when with a "real" deck of cards. LOL I found myself at one time with as many as eight or nine games started between the PC and PS2. That was way too many to keep up with and I tended to forget was I was doing. I just went back to Final Fantasy XXII that I am close to completion. I am just dragging it out and doing side quests ( Hunts) at the moment. I was just figuring the time difference between here and where you are. We are GMT - 5 hrs and you are GMT + 5 1/2 hrs so that makes a 10 1/2 hr time difference. I figure you check in early in the morning 6 to 7 am, when Iam thinking about shutting down for the day at around 9:30 pm, and right now it is about 9:30 pm your time. I've noticed the post times are in the site's local time, which is three hrs behind my local time. Guess I'll change it again. coastie

hey coastie!

i think you have some setting messed up there . The post times are exactly same as the the local time here. You have to setup the time zone somewhere during the registration. I cannot recall the exact place, but you can easily find that out. See, i just took a screen of you last post.

The time is 8:25pm and its may 1 . It shows the local time here.

When i was new here , i always wondered why people are mostly posting when they should be sleeping and there is no activity on the forum during day. Then i got familiar with more people here and came to know about the reason. But i m always ahead in time . L :-) L

Hey piyush, I went back in and changed the time zone.........again. I believe the site is messing with me. :^0 Actually, after they upgraded last summer, I never went in and changed the time zone to my local time. There is a website designer that I have been following in Australia. She also writes good game guides as well. She was in Perth, but after graduating from University, she got the job as a website designer and moved to Perth. I first ran across her guide for Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind on Gamefaqs ( karpie ). Anyway, trying to keep up with the time zones is a job in itself. coastie

hey [~50619]

I went to gamepressure. The site looks good. The gamepedia section was average but the game guide section was very nice. Looks like one stop for all game guides. The pdf version of guide needed registration . I saw the guide for tomb raider legend, it had detailed walkthrough with screens also. It will help in getting those difficult secrets .

Hi piyush, I found this site some time ago while looking for something on The Witcher. I primarily like the maps with the locations noted, as I have a little trouble remembering where things are. LOL. Anyway, after going back on several occassions, I got frustrated and printed the thing out, all 290 pages, and put it in a binder for ready access. The guides over there seem to be pretty good, or at least I was impressed. The guide for The Witcher was far better than the one on gamefaqs, that's for sure. coastie65

My boredom at work is running rampant so I'll play along. Most of these are for PC, a couple of my PS3 and Xbox 360 titles may have slipped in (along with a couple of really old ones, SNES, Dreamcast, so on and so forth, hehe).
First Person Shooter (FPS) - Call of Duty 4, Unreal Tournament 3, Battlefield 2142, Halo 3, BioShock
Action / Adventure - Ratchet and Clank: Future Tools of Destruction, Grand Theft Auto IV
Simulation - Viva Pinata
Fighting - Street Fighter 2, Marvel V.S. Capcom, Power Stone
Role Playing Game (RPG) - Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Most JRPGs (Japanese Role Playing Games, for example Final Fantasy VII, Lost Odyssey, etc)
Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) - World of Warcraft
Favorite Multiplayer Games - World of Warcraft, Call of Duty 4, Unreal Tournament 3, Battlefield 2142, Battlefield 2
New Ones in Sight - Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, Starcraft 2, Battlefield Heroes

Hey, Some pretty good choices although I am personally an RPG type. Most of what I have for the PS2 are action / adventure, I have Final Fantasy X, X-2, and XXII. Haven't completed any of them as yet, but close on FF XXII. Just completed The Bards Tale on the PS2, but missed some stuff. I am presently playing The Witcher on the PC. I downloaded the Crysis demo, and although I'm not real big on FPS games, I kinda enjoyed it. Don't know if I'll get it though. I'll probably need more patience for getting wiped than I have. coastie65

I was a big RPG fan years ago, these days it's generally more of a curiousity. I find myself playing a far greater amount of MMORPGs and FPS titles than anything else but to each his own.
I played Final Fantasy X, X-2, and XII, all of which are fantastic games (FFXII being the stand out title in my personal opinion). I never picked up The Bards Tale however I did look into it some what and it looked to be pretty interesting.
I skipped the Witcher, it didn't really look like my type of game but I've heard great things about it.
As far as Crysis goes, save your money. It's a decent game, but between a $49.95 price tag and the tax it'll put on most systems it generally isn't worth it. I encountered a large amount of graphical glitches, and unresponsive AI when I played and that was more then enough to sour me on the experience. Plus the mutliplayer was lacking, which these days is a big pull for me.
If you want a good FPS game you can't go wrong with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The single player (while short) is a lot of fun and the multiplayer is some of the best out there, and best of all if you have a middle of the line PC you'll be able to play it. The higher end of a PC the better it gets.

I agree with your assessment of FFXXII. I have been dragging it out with hunts as I've run out of most of the side quests, I think. I got caught up in those RPGs way back when on a Commodore 64 and then a Commodore 128. They were called "Graphic Text Adventures" then. I also had a couple of Joy Sticks and a bunch of arcade type games as well. You are right in that everybody has their own individual tastes in games. I was also big into the Zelda stuff as well. coastie65

i agree with you . Nothing beats cod4. ya the single player is a bit short but you can play it couple of more times as it is so good without getting bored. The requirements arent that high considering the graphics and effects used in the game. AI engine used here is awesome.

The codemasters GRID is out . The last good one from codemasters was the DIRT . Last year i had skipped DIRT and took nfs pro street instead. I thought i ll get dirt next year. But now i think i ll again skip dirt and go for GRID. The game looks awesome with graphics. I m currently downloading its demo to see how it goes.

[Here|ftp://downloads.codemasters.com/demo/grid_demo.zip] you can get the demo direct. Its about 890 MB and i m almost finished downloading it. Will post how it goes and at what settings i m abe to run it. Any more speed fans here ?
