Very weird problem began occuring about 3 days ago.

I have three computers

1) Wired Desktop running Vista Home Premium x64

2) My laptop running Vista HP x86

3) Wife's laptop running Vista Home Basic x86

And also a PS3 connected to the same router via ethernet cable

All are connected to a linksys WRT54G v4.1 router (the desktop is wired the laptop's wireless)

Everything was working fine, could see all the computers on the network etc.

Then about 2-3 days ago all the computers disappeared and can't be seen anymore. The laptops can't see each other at all, and they can see the desktop connected to the "Switch" which is then connected to the "Gateway" (which the laptops are directly connected to wirelessly) on the network map.

All three computers say "network discovery is currently turned off" (off, not custom). But when I try to turn it on...nothing happens. I click on, apply and it just stays off. I've tried searching all over and can't find any solutions to the problem. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks a ton

Ok so I figured out WHAT the problem is but not HOW to fix it.

There is no exception for "network discovery" or "file and printer sharing" in my windows firewall list. Anyone know how to add those?

The only exceptions I have are:
Device Monitor

Device Monitor Application

mlb-nexdef-autobahn

Printer Status Window Interface

Windows Live Messenger

Windows Live Messenger (Phone)

Yahoo! FT Server

Yahoo! Messenger

Thanks to anyone who tried to figure this out for me. I was able to run the solution downed. Turned out it was as simple as hitting "restore defaults" in the firewall advanced settings
