My computer started locking up last night after a normal reboot, no settings were changed, or software installed before this lockup happened.
After several reboots I saw that AIM was loading IE, so I stopped AIM from loading and that seemed to allow me to use the PC for a few, then Id load IE and it would hang again... Ive done about 10 reboots and only gotten 2 BSoD, and 10 hangups...
First BSoD was this:
Stop: 0x000000F4 (0x00000003, 0x891A3C08, 0x891A3D7C, 0x805D13B6)
Second one wasn't a standard BSoD, was alot shorter"
"Stop: C000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Windows SubSystem process terminated unexpectedly with a status of c0000005 (0x75b80008 0x0052fc0c).
The system has been shut down."
And that was all the 2nd one said... I don't really want to format the PC, but I guess I will if I have to... but at least with the numbers above someone should be able to tell me what is going on.
Thanks!
Also: I transmitted a report to MSFT as my OS asked me to, and I recieved a report on how to fix the problem... but when IE loaded to show me that report, the PC locked up again.

What is the current status of the machine. Will it boot at all?
Does it only crash when IE is loaded and which version of IE is this 6 or 7?
Do you have Firefox available on this machine?
When I did a search of the initial error code, the only referece that came up in Google was your other post in Yahoo Answers.
When I did a search of the second code, there may be some file errors.

Yea, google must have just updated, as I could find no info on either message through them.
The computer will boot, I even got IE to load (without internet connected) about 10 min ago, I have not tried yet with internet. I am currently running anti virus and spybot search and destroy on the machine while I have access to it.
I do have firefox available on the machine, but I dispise their GUI... My next course of action is to reinstall IE (through firefox) and see if that will solve the problem.
Edit: IE7 7.0.5730.11

Hi Ozymandias and welcome to the forum. My nephew stays over here during the day in the summer when school is out. Last summer, he downloaded and installed AIM on this thing ( I have IE7 ). I had nothing but problems until after I uninstalled Aim. He came over the next day and reinstalled it again, and the problems started again. Yes there were hang ups and such. I uninstalled it and told him in no uncertain terms not to install it again. If you have AOL and firefox it will probably do just fine, otherwise forget it, as I don't think it plays well with anything Micro$oft. ( MSN & IE ). coastie65

His IE7 version matches that of mine on XP 7.0.5730.11. My IE7 version on Vista is 7.0.6000.16643.
Also interesting, since IE7 is an addition to XP, it show up in Add/Remove programs, but on Vista it does not, and does not show up in add/remove Windows features either.
Ozymandius - a re-install wouldn't hurt, and may do the trick.
