In the next few months I plan to buy a Dell XPS M1530 laptop.
However, I am unsure when to do so.
Will new updates/configuration options come out?
Will discouts be available?
Is so, when? Where would this information be available?

You face the common dilema that all computer (and technological gadget) purchasers face. And the reality is that typically no one can tell you a good answer. Most companies will not tell when they are going to release new versions or cut prices or have special deals. You might find prediction/speculation on some sites, but that is all it is speculation. In some cases, it might be "educated speculation" as some companies are less secretive than others and let some things slip. Others are VERY secretive. An excellent example is Apple. There are LOTS of people who always ask "Should I buy my --c-main-- now or wait?" There are sites that specialize in predicting when Apple will release new models, but they are based solely on educated speculation such as how long it has been since the last update of that item.

In the end, the best advise is buy when you feel comfortable and/or you really need it. Buy it when you reach the point that you feel that will gain more benefit by having the new computer than what you might save by getting better price or better features (in otherwords, keep in mind that you derive benefit from having a new computer that presumably will allow you to work faster/better...that has some value...you just need to figure out how that value translates into monetary terms).

About the ONLY advice that I can suggest is definitely DO NOT buy from Dell if they are not offering some sort of special on that model because they will undoubtedly offer a special soon if they are not currently offering it. It is kind of like buying from Sears. Sear is ALWAYS running sales on stuff...thus, you are kind of foolish if you go buy your new TV or washer when they are at full price as Sear usually is running some 10 to 20% off sale every couple of weeks at least. Same is kind of true of Dell. They always seem to have some deal/special running. If they don't have a deal on the M1530 this week, then they likely will next week or the following week. Those deals could be things like free upgrades (of RAM, processors, etc), straight discounts (it appears that is the current deal with some of the M1530 models...a straight discount off the price), or free add-ons (like monitors or printers).

I heard that the Dell XPS m1530 comes with a free case, headphones and CD case. However, i was unable to find this on the Dell website.
What if anything, does the Dell XPS m1530 come with?

That may (or may not) have been a special deal or package which was being offered for a limited time. The only way to be sure is to talk to a customer service rep when you're getting ready to order, and find out what deals or specials they have at that time. You can often negotiate with Dell sales staff to get extras if you're buying through their consumer (Home and Home Office) section. Buying through their business section gets you much better after sales service (American / Canadian customer service, and knowledgeable tech support, as opposed to the awful Dell India consumer section support), but you're unlikely to get any extras or freebies with your system from the business section. Your decision should be based on your individual preferences.

I know that dell in the month of June is having a sale on the M1530 and M1330 versions of their laptops so you might want to check out their June catalog
